~ ♛ ~ IN YOUR HEAD, IN YOUR HEADT H E Y A R E F I G H T I N G ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~[/center] Chatter and crowd noises filled Starstruck Plaza and spilled over into the streets and alleys of Karnavia City, sneaking in by windows and under doors. People milled about the streets, filling the fair Zien city to near capacity. The buzz of excitement and sheer number of people made it seemed like a festival was going on, as usually occurred in the Plaza, but it was not. Waving pink hair whisked among the towering men and women, passing the young and small and old with a light step and adorable smile. The picture of innocence, masking her power and authority only to those who did not know her identity as the Zien Throne. She glanced carelessly at the crowd, gathered her on her beck and call. It was a tournament they came for, and, for some, the chance to join Mind's army. These were the ones, real Ziens and Ziel residents according to the youngest Throne, who hated humans as well and wished to aid in the project to destroy earth. Earth. The pathetic world full of sniveling humans, sub-par to Ziens, and their weakling pokemon. They didn't even have any other races. And they were starting to fall into her beautiful Ziel. The Whisper Keepers were the only ones who could pass between the worlds and cause others to pass between, but they had kept quiet about this ability for years. It had always been known that Whisper Keepers were portals to another world, but it had become something like a myth with age. But now they were renewing their portal status. Mind ground her teeth beneath her false smile. Hatred swirled within her at the thought of humans, and anger directed at the Whisper Keepers. Yet, at the same time that the Whisper Keepers were allowing the humans to intrude, they would also be the portal for Mind to take her army and destroy the parasites and their pale imitation world. “-human!“ Mind’s head snapped up at the word, hair swaying as she swiveled her head in search of the source. “What’re you doing here?” The same voice, deep, a man. “There’s a tournament going on isn’t there? I want to enter!” A younger voice defied the elder man and caused a chorus of laughter to break out. Mind zeroed in on the small crowd surrounding one young man, around Mind’s own age, perhaps a year or so younger. Mind smiled, a cold and cruel expression that turned her eyes to firey glass and destroyed her pretense of child-like innocence. Suddenly she seemed very much the merciless Zien Throne that she really was. Aware of this, she made the slightest alteration to her aura so that instead of merciless, she seemed only as most saw her: a powerful figure in Ziel. “Move.” With one word, men stepped aside so that she could walk past toward the human. He was taller than her, not ugly but not handsome, with brown hair and eyes, freckles, and pokeballs hanging from his belt. “Who are you?” he questioned, confused as to why she was let through. After all, to him, she looked like just a girl. Her smile widened a notch. “The perpetuator of this tournament.” He stared. “No way,” he said, but then he shook his head and grinned, continuing by saying, “Well, people younger have become champion back home, so whatever.” Cocky. Mind planned to wipe that smile off his face. The thought translated into pleasure, making her quite cheerful. “Yes,” she said patiently, “but it seems you’re in the wrong place, human.” “Everyone keeps calling me that,” the human broke in. “What, are you guys something else? Aliens?” Mind waited for the laughter around them to die down as the boy looked around in confusion at the response he had garnered. “As a matter of fact, your right: we’re not human. And you are in our world now, but we don’t much appreciate your presence.” She turned to the men standing around her, still grinning from the human boy’s confusion. “What say we show it exactly what we are? It will make an excellent example for the Soldiers and any other humans wondering about.” A cheer broke forth and a few people hooted their approval. By now, Mind was baring her teeth in an open grin. She opened her arms in invitation, standing facing the crowd before the human who was by now panicking, pressed against the wall that prevented him from escape except straight through the mass of Ziens prepared for the tournament and ready for blood. “So who wants to make an example of this human?”

Human. The word bounced around the crowd, whispered into the ears of eager Ziens. Many of them frowned, others grinned. A lamb had walked straight into the den of hungry lions; the very definition of fast food. It took only a few short seconds for word of the intruder to reach the short girl standing at the back of the crowd. Her surrounding neighbours began to talk in hushed voices, expressing their mirth with small hand gestures. Encased in their shadow, Dust fumed in silent anger. What were humans doing infesting this tournament? This was a time for the soldiers of Ziel to shine, not for the appearance of scum.
It had been a hard two days of travelling for Dust. Not long after she had suffered total humiliation at the hands of an irksome Replica, Dust had set off for Valiant Town. However the town had been completely deserted- devoid of any noteworthy characters. A old tavern owner, some poor wrinkly prune, had pointed her in the direction of Karvania city; her old home.
Upon arriving here through, Dust’s darkening mood had almost immediately dissipated. Announcements of a grand tournament to be held filled the jubilant air- in which one could prove themselves worthy to the Zien throne; Mind. It was the ideal circumstances for the newbie trainer. Here she could slip into the role as one of the more recognizable of soldiers in Ziel- she wouldn’t be the newbie any longer. She could gain power. So Dust had trotted on after the masses of Ziel, onwards towards the large plaza. The place where the blood flowed like rivers on festivals.
But unfortunately Dust hadn’t been able to get a good ‘seat’, so to speak. Instead she had been left to skirt the outer rings of the crowd, unable to see the majestic leader or become a part of the action. A strangler, left to wallow in her bubbling fury at the ends of people’s coattails. That fury was beginning to pour over into her pores, fuelled by rumours of a human confronting Mind. Frustrated with the Zien’s standing before her, Dust decided it was time to take matters into her own hands. She stuck out a bony elbow and shoved the nearest woman backwards. The unprepared lady tottered into some random male, her mouth open in the beginnings of a shocked expression. Without bothering to excuse herself Dust pushed onwards, thrusting forcefully through the dense crowd. Laughter filled the spaces around her, but the pink girl scowled.
Finally she made her way to the inner workings of the mass. There stood the all-powerful Mind and before her... A dull, plain human. Dust narrowed her eyes at the male. She caught snippets of the conversation between the throne and the vermin, but the rest was lost to the noises of an expectant crowd. Mind was playing an excellent game, keeping the Ziens wanting more, playing on their desires. Dust loved every moment of it; watching the scene unfold before her was more entertaining that watching Ratattas getting eradicated. The expressions of the mob were classic; some were hungry, others bored- but most of them were eager, waiting for the climax of the show. The throne didn’t fail to disappoint- her dainty arms were raised into the air, and she swivelled, turning to face each side of the circular crowd. A challenge was raised, the crowd howled- and Dust let a small, malevolent smile slip unto her facade.
How much more of a perfect situation, with exact timing, could she get? Here it was- waiting for her to snatch this opportunity with both hands. Now she could get the chance to show the Zien throne what exactly she was made of. Dust pulled herself out of the densely packed ring of Ziens and into the small space occupied by Mind. Conscious of the crowd’s eyes upon her, she kept her her face sober and walked forward towards the throne.
With each step her mind thrust itself to a new thought- all related to how best to torture the human and make a decent show of it. Looking at the pathetic worm’s face, a terrified face that made Dust want to vomit, she decided against using her original idea. It was too mundane. Celeste’s Psybeam would have made for interesting torture- a mental pain so intense that his screams would have echoed the very calls of hell. But there would have been no show- no bright crimson blood to splatter nearby spectators, no warning to all the others humans nearby. Powerful it would have been, but spectacular it would have not. Filly would have also made a great performance, but sadly fire and crowds did not go together- and favour from Mind would surely be lost if the throne was, let’s say, on fire herself. So Dust settled for plan C just as she came close to the human filth. Close enough to smell his fearful sweat. She leaned in close, getting near to his ear. “You disgust me.” Her voice was low, almost a whisper; filled with layers of contempt and hatred.
After that nice introduction Dust slowly turned towards Mind, away from the trash, and tipped her head in respect. “Milady- I would be honoured to be the one that removes... Removes this filth from your sight.” The pink haired girl almost spat the words unto the human, so much was her contempt for him. She took a step back from both Mind and the rotten human, and the crowd allowed her some leg room. Good, for this required the use of her Sneasel, Chase. He needed some space in order to make long, powerful swipes with his deadly claws that would not only look good, but be effective too. Dust drew out a Pokéball and released the small Pokémon. The lean Sneasel’s attention was immediately sucked in by the crowd, and his eyes turned into hungry orbs- ready to battle and earn the favour of the Ziens around him. Dust, unmoving and with a face of pure ice, nodded her head in the direction of the human. “Slash him boy, but make it slow. We don’t want to miss out on all the fun now, do we?” The Sneasel nodded, crouched down and propelled himself forward; slashing down towards the boy’s fingers.
