Certainly something the Gym Leader was known for. Blue was on another one of his runs, escaping his Gym and leaving poor trainers wondering what had happened to the missing leader. Most call him a poor leader for his frequent outings but he obviously doesn't care. Just because he is a Gym Leader doesn't mean he has to be trapped down in the place did it? Well even if he did it wouldn't had stopped him. Besides, these people need to prove that they're worthy of a fight. If they can manage to track him down then they were on the right track.
Blue walked through the Viridian Forest with Charizard walking along at his side. He felt like taking it easy. Enjoy the fresh air while he could. Charizard seemed to be okay with that idea. Being in the Gym all day was never fun. Well... It wasn't for them anyway.
Blue pulled out a Pokeball from his bag and began tossing it in the air as a means to keep himself entertained. Charizard on the other hand was looking out among the forest and standing guard in case anyone or anything should decide to battle. He was up for a good one. His trainer didn't seem so hopeful. He didn't think there would be any trainer out there worth challenging. Well, besides Red. His thoughts traced back through the memories, bringing a smirk upon his face. He hadn't forgotten about his childhood rival. He wondered what the guy was up to. Last he heard he was somewhere on Mt. Moon? Or at least that's what he last heard...
Blue kept on walking till suddenly he noticed Charizard stopped. He turned to face the alter Pokemon. "What is it?" Blue retuned the Pokeball back to his bag and stared curiously at him. Charizard was facing the other direction, his eyes narrowed as a deep growl crawled up his throat. <Someone's coming...>
Blue merely walked up beside Charizard and looked out to the trail they just travelled with a bored look on his face. 'I bet it's some pitiful trainer looking for a badge,' he sighed at the thought. If only he could find an actual challenge. Maybe life would be a little more fun for the Former Champion. "Show yourself," he called out.
Charizard looked over to his Trainer. Though he probably should have grown used to it by now, Blue had changed quite a bit since the loss at the League. He hoped whoever this was wouldn't disappoint. It would be nice to see Blue a little more happier for a change.

He was spending way too much time in Kanto, but after seeing Leaf in Hoenn, he knew he had one more person to see before crawling back up to Mount Silver. Any good rival would remember the man who built him up to be Kanto Champion. On the other hand, Blue was incredibly hard to track down without hanging a sign over the region. "Arceus, Blue wasn't at the Gym, so where else could he be?"
He mumbled, mostly to himself but it was also somewhat directed to the mouse that sat on his shoulder. Licking his paw, the Pikachu shrugged mutely. The duo were wandering aimlessly down the twisting path in the Viridian Forest. The harmless caterpillar creatures eyeballing him from the treetops gave him no grief that day, but it was probably because they didn't want to mess with the powerful rat that sat on his bony shoulder and commanded the upmost authority. 'Show yourself.' The voice sounded achingly familiar, although it lacked a face in Red's mind. Apparently Pikachu knew who it was because a light snarl crackled in the back of his throat when he heard the shout. Arceus knows where the shout came from or how Red had been spotted. He stumbled blindly in the direction that he thought the shout had come from, almost amused at the thought that he might be able to intimidate some newbie with his powerful Pokémon The first thing he saw of the two was the reptile, large and orange. The boy's slender fingers immediately went to his belt. Had his Charizard gotten lose? No, wait... who was standing beside the creature? Memories flooded his mind. All his hardships and downfalls, everything that was forced upon him and all those times he thought he might just give up. They were crippling and so real. He swallowed hard, knowing the face almost immediately. "Look what the Meowth dragged in." The Champion choked out, stepping around the foliage to approach his childhood rival, a wolfish smirk growing on his face, "If it isn't Blue Oak." The boy was overcome by excitement. Hell, this was the guy who kicked his ass over and over, but in the end, he still won. Him. Red. It felt good to become reacquainted with all his childhood friends. "What have you... been up to?" The dark-haired boy asked, glancing between the Charizard and it's trainer.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ooc; now we just need leaf for the kanto party. :3 ------------------------------------ & I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE TO LOSE MY HEAD

Charizard continued staring out into the forest. Someone was definitely out there. The Pokemon was the first to catch sight of the person. His eyes widened in surprise. Wow, and he was wishing for a challenge for Blue! The reptile began wishing for other things but to no luck. <Damn...> His dissapointment didn't last long though. At least Blue might not be so moody now. The Charizard relaxed and simply watched wondering how he would react to the encounter.
'Look what the Meowth dragged in,' Blue suddenly saw the boy and smirked. "Wow! Long time, no see, Red. Didn't expect to find you out here." He noticed his excitement and was a little confused. He expected the encounter to be a little different. Red gloating about how he took his spot as Champion. That was something he expected. The two fought a lot as kids so he though it wouldn't be much different now. But he guessed time changes things.
'What have you... been up to?' He chuckled slightly, "Nothing much. Just being irresponsible. You know, the usual." Yeah he'd been told that a lot. Especially by his grandfather. While the man was famous, he was a bit annoying. He always meant well though and he had to love him.
Blue looked over him he'd changed from the little kid he once knew. "How about you? What are you doing here?" Perhaps something was going on that he wasn't aware of. Trouble always seemed to follow Red when they were kids. But if it were anywhere close he would have known. Guess he was just visiting. Maybe wanted another battle for old time's sake. Wouldn't surprise him.

The Charizard looked pretty upset when they came over. What? He didn't want to wrestle with Red's Charizard? Well that sucked. The boy's brow rose at Blue's voice. Did he sound... enthusiastic about seeing him? Holy shit, that was new. But maybe he himself was being too giddy for normal Red. Then again, after sitting on a mountain for like five years, one has to imagine that a familiar face would leave said person feeling overwhelmed with emotions-- even if that familiar face belonged to an asshole. He could remember it like nine years ago had only been yesterday. Blue was calling his Bulbasaur wimpy. Leaf would defend him... kinda. But she was all over the place and didn't really have time for him anyways. It sucked balls back then, but he also remembered wiping the floor with Blue's ass at the Championship match. Fate had been on his side, not Blue's. It still pleased him to look at the mellow gym leader's face and see that of a loser.
What? He deserved it for bullying Red all those years! The former champion chuckled at his question and began yapping about how he was his usual, unreliable self. "Figures. Are you still gym leader? You prance around too much to be a gym leader."
The champion mumbled, looking off into the woods. His Pikachu chattered cussings into his ear, talking about how the Charizard was fat and smelly or something. Red wasn't really paying attention to what the rat had to say, he was busy trying to catch up after a million years on Mount Silver. Blue went on to ask what he had been up to and why he was here. What? Red couldn't visit? "I've been... traveling. I decided to visit Kanto after I met up with Leaf in Hoenn."[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ------------------------------------ & I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE TO LOSE MY HEAD

x It seemed like these days, Leaf had too much energy to spend. And how did she attempt to spend it? By jumping all over the place. Just the other day she had been in Hoenn, and the next in Johto. And now, she was here. In Viridian. Well, sort of in Viridian. Right now, the dark-haired trainer was actually in Viridian Forest, but it was close enough to the large popular city for her to count it as a part of it. She didn't even really know why she was here, in her old region. She just supposed there was no particular reason. However, every city and town she visited held some memory of hers. She supposed Viridian would be no exception. Especially since Blue was there. She was pretty sure he was the gym leader there, but for some reason, she wasn't expecting to see him. He would probably be too busy battling all the wannabe trainers to even notice her if she visited.
Lost in her memories as she was, Leaf had completely forgotten her Ninetails until she tripped over her. The fire pokemon gave a disdainful sniff and a sigh, before nosing up her trainer. Leaf grinned an apologetic smile. It was a good thing Ninetails was there to help her from getting to lost or sidetracked. Leaf had a habit of straying from the path to look at things she deemed more interesting, and it was to be the eternal plight of the fire pokemon to attempt to keep her out of trouble. However, Leaf suspected that she had given up a long time ago.
Suddenly, the Ninetails' head tilted to one side, an ear twitching. The voices reached Leaf's ears at just about the same time. They sounded oddly familiar....quickening her pace, Ninetails easily keeping pace and yet still managing to look graceful, Leaf was just in time to catch the end of a sentence with her name in it. Well, either someone was talking about her or the trees. Stepping out of the bushes, hand on her hat, the girl looked around. "Someone talkin' about me?"
