F o r j u s t o n e n i g h t c a n ’ t t h i n g s b e e a s y ? Let things float on billows of smoke and ash… The wind whistled in the mountains' peaks, a slowly shifting tune of sheer rocks and silent snow. A single cry broke the melody, followed quickly by another and another. A steady beat like drums. Following the beat with just a split second between was the sound of shattering rock, a second beat, like singing a Round.* Xavier flung his leg at a spire of stone, shattering it. He sucked in a quick breath and shoved it out as he threw a rapid set of punches at the falling pieces. When the last moderately sized piece had been split into pebbles, the legendary Replica whirled around, slipstream brushing his hair from his eyes, sparked with energy. He threw his left arm out, pushing the air, muscles quivering. A blast of fire shot forth from his palm, obliterating a stack of stones piled by a recent rock fall and continued to blast a crater into the cliff face. Smoke billowed gently from the singed wall as rumbling sounded from above. Xavier flung his head back, zeroing in on the beginnings of the rock fall. He froze, every muscle tensing in preparation. He lowered himself slowly, preparing... when the rocks were nearly on him, he leaped up. Feet collided with rock as he propelled himself higher, alternating between shattering rocks with his feet, fists, elbows, and knees and using them as stepping stones while practicing defensive moves as well, he climbed skyward. At the top, he snapped his legs together, flipping himself around and landing lightly two inches from the edge. He stood, heaving out a huff of breath. Xavier looked behind him, briefly surveying his work. A small boulder caught his eye. Displeased that one had been left, he dove backwards from his perch. He smashed one firey fist into the boulder, using the blast of impact to roll away and land on his feet. Barely pausing for breath, he kicked one leg behind him at a rock, quickly following with a punch. Xavier had already been training for a few hours but he continued tirelessly. Soul had no need of him at the moment, nor would she for some time - enough for him to push himself without too much worry. Either Samuel or Calister should be watching over her. The Entei Replica hit another spire of rock particularly hard, a faint crease of worry marring his brow. He tried to shake it off, but his protective nature was wheedling it's way in. Disgruntled by the faint feeling of guilt at neglecting his duty to protect the only ever human Throne of Ziel despite the fact that she had given him permission gnawed at the bottom of his heart slowly, enjoying the sweet anxiety that resulted. Wrapped in his thoughts, which now half consisted of planning ways to protect Soul - and his fellow Guards and any potentially nearby civilians - Xavier worked himself harder, throwing attack after deflection at the rock around him. He had chosen this place specifically because it was equipped with plenty of spires and piles of rocks which he could train with as well as it was usually deserted, so there was no concern of accidentally hurting someone. Xavier took in deep breaths of the cool mountain air of Othapian Peaks to calm himself as fire sparked and waved from his limbs and skin met with stone in repeated, harsh connections. The fire faded as the Entei Replica relaxed. Sweat dripped from him but his movements became more graceful and focused more on technique than strength. Sparring by himself was one of the few times that the Guard could feel at ease, without his duty at the forefront of his mind. It was always there, consuming when he was at his post, but idling in the back when he could get away to train or read or simply rest. More time slipped by unnoticed, the sun trailing clouds through the sky as Xavier fought stones with a light, easy smile playing on his lips.

Well, I've never seen us act like this, Our only hope is in the minds of kids, It was rare to find Ciel with a happy expression on her face. She excelled at looking annoyed and staying like that (it had been muttered many times behind her back at how her features would get stuck if she kept up with it; the girl was pretty sure they already had) Today was no exception. All the girl wanted was peace and quiet and no one to go charging around with their ridiculous ideas and beliefs, but noooo. Everyone had to go around pretending to be soldiers and wanting to destroy others, and if it wasn't that, then it was that whole mess with the thrones. It was hard to keep news from Ciel, and this little piece had been no exception. After all, a human, on a throne? It was unthinkable to most. But to the small girl who was even now climbing up the Othapian Peaks and grumbling silently to herself, it wasn't that far out. Ciel liked to think that she was open-minded and accepting, and that was the reason she didn't give much thought to it, but the truth was that she didn't really care. It was their problem, not hers. She only wanted everyone to stop the fighting and get on with their sorry lives. My my, wasn't she in the critical mood on this fine day.
With an angry grunt, the small white-haired girl heaved herself up on to a ledge and then turned around to give the offending ground a good kick for attempting to thwart her. She had energy to burn today, and climbing rocks seemed like a good way to spend it. Troublesome thoughts had been worming themselves inside her head lately, only to be hurriedly pushed away. She didn't want to think about problems. Peace was the way to go, because that way, everyone would stop griping and get their act together. Also, if everything was quiet, then no one would bug the small girl. That was one of the reasons why she liked the Peaks so much; it was so rocky and rugged, that rarely did anyone come up. By climbing up them, Ciel accomplished two things; one, getting rid of unwanted energy. And two, finding the quiet she always desired.
However, things were to be different today. The girl had just finished heaving herself up yet another rough patch when she heard the noises. They were steady beats of sound that echoed in Ciel's ear. It sounded suspiciously like.....someone was breaking rocks? The girl's blue eyes narrowed. Oh, the nerve. She hadn't climbed all the way up here to watch someone destroy her lovely peaks. Her expression became determined, and the replica quickened her pace, until she was at the area where the source of the noise was coming from. Quiet as ever, she leaned against an errant rock, hiding in it's shadow as she glared at the man who was destroying all the nice rocks. Admittedly, he was putting on a good show, but still. If he razed everything to the ground, Ciel would be very dissapointed, and she intended to inform the taller, stronger-looking man of that. Stepping forwards, arms crossed across her chest, she frowned at him. "I happen to like this place, you know," she informed him abruptly, with her usual lack of tact. She didn't talk to people often. And they'll show us a thing or two. Words: 557 Notes: Ugh, crap post. That's what I get for working late >.<

So I saw you one day You said hello and so did I Now there's just one thing I need to know Xavier tensed at the sudden intrusion of a voice from behind him, breaking the silence surrounding the crack of breaking rock. ”I happen to like this place, you know.” Striking the rock flying towards him from his last attack, he turned around to face the small girl. His gaze swept over her swiftly, gauging her strength and seeking identification. She was small, and didn't look very strong or very old for that matter - but size did not always correlate with strength and many legendary Replicas looked younger than they were, himself included. As he evaluated her, he replied, “So do I.” She had incredibly long white hair, styled to suit her age though the color did not. Then he recognized who this small girl was. "Ciel, the Lugia Replica." He spoke her name aloud and nodded in a greeting fashion. He had heard of her. The guardian of the seas with the power to calm raging storms, Lugia - one had appeared sixteen years ago in Replica form. Since then, word had spread that her name was Ciel and she often appeared around the Othapian Peaks. Xavier had assumed she liked the solitude, like he did. Although not one for rumors, it paid to pay attention to them, as useful information was usually leaked through gossip. According to said rumors, Ciel was fair and acted far older than she actually was, though she had a stubborn streak wide as the Peaks were tall and argued a lot. Although she was young, she seemed very intelligent. The Entei Replica asked, “What are you doing here?” If his Throne had been nearby he might have asked brashly, muscles tensed in case she was a threat. As of yet, the Guard did not know if she was for or against Soul, or if she was neutral. And as Soul was not here, Xavier had the presence to wonder if it was rude to question why another legendary Replica was up in the Othapian Peaks. There was nothing to stop her, no reason, but she had talked to him first, so the polite thing to do was reply, right? Despite being rather awkward socially, he had learned something in fifty-eight years of existence.
Just how soon is goodbye?... o.o.c;;sorry, I actually wrote this this weekend but the internet kept screwing up whenever I remembered to try and post it. Plus, started driver's ed this week so I'm gone most of the day. sorry it's short too @_@ Too lazy to add colors. tag;;Ciel words;; three hundred & seventy template/lyrics;;credit to me

Well, I've never seen us act like this, Our only hope is in the minds of kids, Ciel narrowed her eyes as she continued to glare at the man, ignoring the fact that he was obviously very strong and could break her like a matchstick. If he could do it to her favored rocks, then he could do the same to her. However, Ciel did have something a little extra. Strength wasn't all that mattered. Her frown only deepened when his gaze was transferred to her. He appeared to be looking her up and down, deciding whether she was worth the trouble or not, most likely. At least he hadn't jumped to conclusions and attacked. The girl had a very low opinion of those who acted first and thought later.
She scarcely blinked when he spoke her name, though instantly, her mind whirred in to action. "What of it?" she snapped, sharp tongue always at the ready. If he knew her name, then who was he? She wasn't exactly a public figure, though her looks did tend to stick out a little. Damn white hair. Well, he had his sources, she had hers. Instantly, the little girl began to think back. He had been using fire before, which automatically made him a replica, unless the Ziens or Immortals had found ways to use power like that by themselves. She hoped not. Those Zien soldiers were screwing things up enough already as it was.
Finally, she grasped it. Xavier, the Entei Replica," she replied in turn, mimicking his words. Well, wasn't this wonderful. If memory served, then he was the guardian of the human Throne, Soul. Ciel heaved a silent sigh of disgust. He was in on the whole squabble that had become the Throne mess. Great. Ciel just wanted everyone to stop fighting; was that so much to ask? But no. They continued, and ignored her. If this Replica began demanding about whose side she was on and whatnot, she was going to put a hole through someone.
She tilted her head at his question, and then opened her mouth to give one of her trademark argumental replies. "Well, what are you doing here?" she retorted. "Apart from killing all my rocks, that is," Ciel swept a small hand towards all of the bits and pieces littering the ground, ignoring the fact that rocks were inanimate. "If you're thinking of waging one of your stupid wars here and getting in to a fight, forget it." She wasn't going to let anyone do any biased fighting on these mountains, unless it was her. Ciel made quite the sight, the little girl dressed all in white, glaring furiously at the idea of fighting for beliefs. And they'll show us a thing or two. Words: 446 Notes: No problem ^_^ computers despise me with every inch of their electronic being. I understand your pain.

W h o a m I t o s a y T h a t t h e w o r l d i s g o o d o r e v i l ? Despite having heard of her attitude - someone that argumentative tended to leave a wake of gossip behind them - Xavier blinked at her response. He frowned as she suggested that he wanted to war on these peaks. "I'm training," he said carefully. "I don't want there to be war, certainly not on Othapian Peaks." The thought kept his frown in place. He thought of how often he came here, breathing deeply in the thin, clear air and getting away from all the blood-thirsty Ziens and Replicas below, and his strenuous duty as Soul's Guard. Ziel had not always been this bad. Certainly, its residents had always enjoyed battling, a few times resulting in pointless wars; but most of the time things were kept personal, between two or more people or groups. But once the Ziens had learned of Earth, they had become vicious and dark in their attempt to destroy it, as if they had shifted all of their aggression to the supposedly "inferior" world and its inhabitants. Once Mind had become Throne, things had only gotten worse. Things were no longer disorganized, Ziens hunting Portals in order to go to Earth and beget random destruction; now the Zien Throne was calling the Ziens to work together, creating an army that would come from nowhere, using Portal accomplices - willing or unwilling - to take Earth by surprise. No human would be safe, and it was doubtful even the pokemon would escape, simply because they resided on Earth. Replicas and even Immortals had protested this and a rebellion had risen that Mind was constantly attempting to disband and eliminate. It wouldn't surprise most of Ziel's inhabitants if a civil war broke out. Unfortunately, even within the rebellion there was division as some of them wanted to stop the attack on Earth all together, while others simply wanted to pokemon to be spared. But there was no way Xavier would lead any sort of war or battle to this place. Wind swirled around Xavier, tossing his hair about and rippling his clothes. He glanced upwards, following the wind's path with his eyes as it danced about the rock spires and rebounded off the cliffs. As he lowered his head again to face Ciel he said slowly, "This place is... calming for me. I didn't mean to offend anyone, I came here to get away and," he paused to search for the right word, "relax." The Guard spoke bluntly, oblivious of the fact that most people wouldn't be so frank with a stranger (not to mention one who wasn't exactly polite).
