Where to eat? the young man wondered, pursing his lips and frowning at everything ahead of him. He paused in the middle of his pacing to look about –at the people milling around him, at the trees scattered about the streets. He frowned again, thinking that this place was much too crowded for his liking –he liked space, to roam around to be able to look at everything around him, to admire the scenery. Now, however, the scenery was merely packed bodies milling around like fish in a pond, occasionally the wave of people would clear only to pick up again and be washed away by the merciless crowd. Immediately he decided he’d rather changed route and forced his feet to cooperate, pushing against the sweating bodies, unhearing to the grunts and protest of the people, ignoring when the rumbling growl of a Pokémon reached his ears, simply concentrating on escaping the crowd of bodies.
He lost himself around the curving sidewalks and dodging buildings barely noticing when he made it to the plaza. The first thing indicator that something was different was the sudden lull in the people –there still where people but in smaller quantities and tightly clustered in tiny groups. Blearily he blinked, disoriented but his feet never faltered as he moved forward already his mind clearing and providing room for thought. What would be good to eat? he wondered again, but, suddenly, he could wonder no more. A sharp pain erupted on the side of his head, strong enough to make him loose his balance and send him toppling over. He fell like a limp ragdoll, disoriented, his vision swam and he felt something warm trickle down his scalp.
Blood.
He was so out of it that he barely felt when something pushed him aside; he barely felt the tiny pinpricks of claws and the talons greedily digging into his pockets with a purpose. In fact, he was only half-aware when something darted away from him –a jagged red line but it flashed past so quickly he couldn’t be sure he saw it.

“Got it!” declared Arceus cheerfully as he reached the tree Vortex was resting under. His trainer merely grunted in response, his eyes narrowed against the glint of the sun –searching for the next unlucky victim. The Kecleon was already familiar with the plan, so wordlessly the reptilian reached for his trainer’s back pack and set its prize inside it. A wallet –small and brown, he would have opened it and taken a look at their spoils but he knew that could only assure someone would see the pair and maybe draw their own conclusions. These conclusions could be right or they could be wrong but if anyone had been observing them for long enough they would have noticed that this was the third wallet that was stuffed into this same back pack. Of course the back pack wasn’t unguarded –Giratina, the tiny wide-eyed Eevee stood as its sole guardian, his beady eyes were darting and watchful and he wasn’t missing any possible detail. As the Kecleon drew near, the Eevee let out a warning snarl –seeing who it was however the tiny dog-like Pokémon merely shook his coat and sat on its haunches, waiting for Arceus to stuff the wallet inside.
“That was some good aim,” sang Arceus, already back by his trainer’s side “hit him where it hurt,” he continued quieting down as soon as he saw a shift in Vortex’ movement. The Whisper Keeper lifted both arms; a slingshot in one of them and in one swift, smooth movement, so no one would be too sure of what they saw, fired a rock then simply let his arms fall dead by his side. Immediately the Kecleon took the color of his surroundings and made his way towards the fallen victim, repeating the process of fishing for the wallet –this time with added help of Palkia who had also been standing in wait to snatch another wallet. Once in their grasp the Kecleon took to the streets again, weaving and twisting around the trees and benches with the Eeevee at his heels so that anyone who saw the fallen man and traced it to the crooked red line wouldn’t be able to tell which way the pair was going. After a full few minutes of twist and turns the Kecleon made a direct dash for his trainer.
This time Vortex smirked and hid the slingshot out of sight –turning back to his three Pokémon with a devious smile. “Put that inside, we’ll check ‘em later,” he said cheerfully picking up the female Eevee in his arms and holding her close despite her protests. She trashed and nipped at his hand but the trainer blissfully ignored her, and with a sigh, Palkia slumped in his arms and simply het herself be manhandled in such a way. The trainer ignored her melodramatics and instead ran a hand through her soft fur, turning his eyes towards Giratina and Arceus. “Any problem?” he asked the two –they shook their heads winning a toothy smile from Vort’s part.
Second day successfully stealing wallets from this part of the city, soon they’d have to pick another location before the people got too suspicious but it would do for now.
