The first time Ruby saw Charlie he was a Charmander –a bright yellow and wide-eyed Charmander running away from a Fearow and a Stantler –he had just been walking merrily down on his way to the next town with Alex by his side when he saw the blur of yellow fly by with the other Pokémon close behind. Shortly an angry-looking trainer waltzed by as well clearly in pursue of the unusually colored Charmander. Curiosity made Ruby pause but in the end he decided it wasn’t his problem and continued on his way. However he saw the Charmander again for a second time the next day, this time cornered by the Fearow and Stantler and the same trainer looming over it with Pokeball in hand. This time Ruby decided to help the little fire lizard and with Alex’s help was stuck in a two on two battle with the yellow Charmander on his side, during the course of the battle the Charmander evolved into Charmeleon and sent the trainer and his Pokémon packing. Unusually enough the Charmeleon seemed to want to stick to Ruby’s side explaining how he ended up with the shiny reptile.

Instead of the usual gruff and tough demeanor one might expect from such Pokémon, Charlie is normally quite calm. The Charmeleon still loves to fight and will probably look for any excuse to do so if bored, but it would rather sit back and take a nap. Yes, that’s right, this is a lazy Charmeleon. Like his trainer, Charlie is quite hard to panic even if the situation requires that one does so because he is used to taking all things with the kind of laidback patience one would expect from a Slakoth. While the rest of the team is out trying to do something useful Charlie is normally napping under a tree or eating something.
