One good part of staying at the gym was nothing was too far. Pallet Town was a skip away, though he never went, and all it took was a raging Tyranitar to mow through Mt. Moon to Cerulean Cape. Honestly, he could go anywhere with Charizard, but walking was more entertaining. He got to see the gaped eyes and bewildered expressions. Of course, the nagging trainers were a bother. It was a cycle. Challenges, check the badges, and tell them to come to the gym when they got the rest of their badges. Sure, there was a bastard that begged and Blue would appease him, with a swift defeat by Charizard. Then he would go on his merry way to whatever destination, not bothered anyone’s whining.
At dawn, Blue set out. He barely acknowledged the young grins and early geezers darting out of their houses to watch the sunset through the forest’s trees. Blue needed to get out before anyone was awake. <Blue, why so early? The sun's not even out.> Pausing, the gym leader paused and glanced at the complaining Umbreon, confused. "Why are you complaining? You hate the sun.” The trainer teased as the Umbreon dipped her head and darted forward. “Fine, lead the way if that makes you happy.” The dark pokemon did as Blue said until they reached the borders of Pallet Town. <Here? You never take me here.> Then Blue set the pace, quicker than Umbreon could walk. She glanced at her trainer, ready to speak before she noticed his expression. She shivered, uncomfortable, but then dipped her head as she followed at Blue’s heels. <C’mon, Blue. Let’s go visit your grandfather. You’re always talking about him.>
“Nope,” Blue said as he reached the water’s edge. Then he reached for something. Two pokeballs. The Umbreon sat down, looking frightened. “Umbra,” called the pokemon as a pokeball hit her in the head and engulfed her in light. He clipped it to his pocket before releasing the other pokeball. When the pokeball opened, a smiling Golduck greeted him. <BLUE! I missed you buddy.> A glare showed the water pokemon that his trainer was displeased. Beady eyes looked around but nothing else mattered when he noticed the body of water. Instantly, he jumped in, swam in a circle underwater, and surfaced again. Blue leapt on the pokemon’s back, balancing himself with a hip adjustment here and there. <Really? Where to?> Golduck dipped his beak in and out, muffling the question. “Cinnibar Island,” he said. Golduck understood the reasons. He launched his body and trainer through the water. Out on the water, trainers still craved to battle, but avoiding them was simple. All it took was a change in speed and a wave of water before they recoiled and returned to frolicking with their pokemon. Soon rocks sprouted from the sea and Blue spotted the mass of ash and rock. Golduck slowed and navigated around the rocks and then stopping on level ground, Blue stepped off. “Go ahead and torture the Tentacool and Magikarp, but don’t go too far.” Golduck bobbed up and down before completely submerging. Blue swept the hair out of his face as he looked up. Slowly, he ascended the rocks. After a few steps, his hands became sore due to the protruding rocks driving into his palms, but the pain was nothing. After many small ledges, he reached a flat plain of ash, dust, and loose gravel. He found this place after investigating the volcano’s aftermath. He hated to see the bricks among the debris, proof that a town existed, but this was the perfect place to train the newest member. Smiling, he handled three pokeballs in one hand and a single pokeball in the other. With a sweep of his hand, the single pokeball opened up. Charizard craned his neck and he roared. Heavy eyes looked at the sky before the dragon pokemon stretched his wings and took to the sky. Blue shook his head at his companion’s delight of open sky. Then he swept his other hand, pokeballs opening and returned as bursts of pokemon revealed pokemon. The first was Umbreon who jumped around like a bronking Rapidash before settling on the ground. Next was Scizor who crossed his arms and he evaluated the area. Unamused, he watched Blue. The final revealed pokemon was Tyranitar. Instantly, the massive pokemon hissed before staring at Blue. The two locked eyes, Blue daring him to act while Tyranitar dared him to stop. Finally, the pokemon looked away and sat down, his tail sweeping ash. “Training today, Tyranitar. You’ll be against Scizor today.” Tyranitar growled at Blue as his head directed toward the sky. “You know the rules. Defeat Machamp and Scizor and you’ll get a battle him all by yourself. Now Iron Head, Scizor. Tyranitar, brace yourself and then Payback.” Both pokemon nodded, eyes fixing upon the other. Suddenly, Scizor’s head glowed, hardening, before the bug pokemon flew. Tyranitar stood tall, keeping his legs firm on the ground. The attacked connected and Blue watched Tyranitar’s feet. They did not move but Scizor’s attack was scooting him back. While impressing with Scizor, he wanted his pokemon to stay firm. Scizor’s attacked stopped and he crouched, ready. Tyranitar growled as he rushed forward. His body produced a faint black outline as he swung his tail. Scizor jumped, the attack missing. While Tyranitar roared in frustration, Blue said, “Calm down, Tyranitar. You have to think what your opponent will do. Don’t expect me to predict everything. Your brute strength won’t solve anything.”Tyranitar growled and nodded, focusing again. Blue groaned at the pokemon. The new blood was difficult to control. He was simply glad that Tyranitar was not present at the Champion Match. Then his defeat would have been more humilitaring. As his pokemon wait for further commands, Blue’s mind began to wander as felt the thud of Charizard fall, the sound of Charizard’s defeat, and the sight of Charizard’s injuries. Squinting, he looked at his pokemon, back at his personal training grounds.[/blockquote] WORDS: 1005 MUSE: Watching Cowboy Bebop NOTES: ... TAG: Anyone really. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What to do today, what to do today......the possibilities were endless. The girl could run around madly waving her arms around, but as fun as that was, that wouldn't accomplish much. She could go for a walk in search of pokemon and trainers, but.....she didn't feel like that. She could go for a ride with her Aerodactyl, but she hated flying unless necessary (it was a good thing that Arrow was a dinosaur and not a bird-pokemon, or else the girl would never have gone near him in the first place) There were so many possibilities, and yet, Leaf couldn't decide on one certain choice. There was nothing new to do that hadn't been done already.
Well, before she did anything, whatever that anything may be, she should probably heal her pokemon first. And who knew? Maybe she would hear about something interesting for her to pursue while in the pokemon center. All sorts of people gathered in pokemon centers, especially in Fuchsia City, where she was right now. After all, it was the last stop before Cinnabar, or at least, it had used to be. Not since Cinnabar had been destroyed in that......volcano, was it? Yes, that volcano explosion that had turned the once prosperous island in to piles of rubble. It had been a tragedy Leaf sure hadn't seen coming. But now, powerful wild pokemon were supposed to dwell there, amongst the wreckage. She hadn't been there since the explosion, but the route to the island couldn't have changed that much. Finally, she had found her purpose for the day!
After quickly healing her pokemon, the dark-haired girl rushed outside in her usual speedy manner, and was rewarded with clear skies and calm waters. She would have abandoned the idea of going to Cinnabar if a storm had been coming, or the waves had been too rough. She wasn't an idiot, or suicidal, and didn't want her pokemon to get hurt for stupid reasons, even though a ride like that would have been exhilirating.....but no matter. Walking to the edge of the land, Leaf sat down and contemplated things for a moment. Which pokemon should she use to get across the water to her destination? Not Arrow, hell no. She wasn't flying. Not Scyther either, because again, she wasn't flying. Plus his hands were giant razor blades. Her Ninetails was out because it was a fire-type, and so was her Gengar because he was a ghost. That left either Airy or Blasty, her Dragonair and her Blastoise.
....Blasty it was. Putting her hand in her bag, she instantly pulled out a pokeball which she instinctively knew was the Blastoise's. Why? Because it was an older model than the rest, and more scratched and nicked. Well, the water-pokemon had been with her for a long time. His pokeball was bound to get like that after a while. With a flourish, she threw the pokeball out, and with a blaze of white light, the large shelled pokemon appeared, and with a quick hop, she leaped on to his back. "Cinnabar, please." she told him. "You remember the way, right?" the water pokemon grinned his regular smile, made sinister by his slanted eyes and intimidating looks. <Of course,> he replied, before setting off across the water at a swift, steady pace.
It wasn't going to be a long ride, but still, Leaf thought that some of her pokemon might enjoy it. Diving her hand in to her bag once again, she pulled out two pokeballs and threw them out. In two bursts of white light, Scyther appeared, as did Airy after him. Airy, as inquisitive and affectionate as ever, flew up to Leaf and nuzzled her briefly, before going away to perform a few loops in the sky. Scyther, however, was too cool for such things, and just started batting his insect wings so that he was flying beside the Blastoise. Leaf grinned at him. Poor guy had to act serious and responsible all the time. It was basically his job to get everyone out of their messes. Even though he had wings, Leaf still loved him. It was only bird-type pokemon flyers that she hated.
Pretty soon, they reached the island. Leaf jumped off the Blastoise easily, whereas he had to waddle and claw his way up to the ground. Hm, so there were some disadvantages to being a giant walking turtle. As soon as Leaf was sure Blasty had gotten up alright, she took off at a quick pace, leaving him behind to catch up. However, she halted when she noticed her Scyther's head tilt sideways, as if he was trying to listen to something. About to ask what it was, the sound reached Leaf's weak human ears. Was that- a roar? It sounded like it came from something big. Unfazed, Leaf just grinned, and started on her way again. Finding out what this pokemon was would be fun, though she had her sneaking suspicion that it was a Charizard. She had battled against one or two before, and their roar was not a sound that was easily forgotten.
Finally, she reached the source of all the noise. It was basically a giant clearing with some rubble here and there, nothing surprising about that. What was surprising was the pokemon that were gathered there. Sure enough, there was a Charizard in the sky. Then there was an Umbreon, and finally, a Scizor battling the giant pokemon known as a Tyranitar. Leaf leaned back against a conveniently located ratty tree and whistled her appreciation. These weren't wild pokemon, she could see that. The sight of a man with his back turned to her only confirmed that. Obviously, he was making his pokemon battle against each other, for training purposes, most likely. He looked familiar for some reason.....eh. Leaf smiled her usual flirty grin and said in a voice that couldn't help but carry, "Don't you think that it's better to fight against another trainer rather than yourself?" Her Scyther, always at her side, crossed his arms in his regular calm pose as Airy flew in from above. Her Blastoise was behind her, a huge figure that dwarfed her, as usual. "Charizard."
The pokeball arched through the air and pulled apart with a loud crack. The light spilled from the center and formed the hulking mass of leathery flesh. The dragon tossed his head with an earsplitting roar. The dragon's rage-filled navy eyes softened as he unfurled his wings and tested the on that had previously been bent awkwardly. Thank Arceus for Pokemon Centers, huh? He sniffed at the appendage and then snorted indignantly. <Ye welcome ye stupi' lizard! We trudged all th'way back ta Viridian to fix yer wing!> The yellow ball of fur on Red's shoulder growled, waving his tail back and forth. The dragon turned his head and replied with irritation clear in his throaty tone, <Kiss my ass you good-for-nothing rat.> The mouse leaped from his trainer's shoulder, landing a few feet infront of the Charizard with electricity crackling from his cheeks. They became enveloped in argument soon after. Red had no use in quelling the fighting, so he wandered across the uneven ground of his home town, stumbling over to the crater that his Charizard had made in an attempt to crush that Jolteon, Aeon. The earth inside this recess was charred and scuffed, covered in dried blood and soot. Red recalled his fight with Gold bitterly. Or at least the first match had been something awful. However, his Charizard had not earned anything permanent in terms of damage besides scars. Behind him, the sound of footsteps were clear. His dragon and his rodent were standing there like statues, falling silent as their eyes moved towards the crater. We could have killed someone. <I'm out here for a reason, aren't I?> The dragon rumbled, eying the boy as he turned slowly to face his teammates. "We're going to Cinnabar Island." His Pikachu began to complain, saying something along the lines of 'I thought we were going back to Mt. Silver!' The boy shrugged. He liked being out-- adventuring. The dragon smacked Pikachu lightly with his tail and wordlessly, the mouse glared at him before leaping up onto his back between his shoulder blades. The dragon dipped his body towards the ground as his trainer mutely walked towards him. His pale hands rested on the fire-type's curved neck. One hand was bound from when Charizard had refused his command to fall back and smacked his hand to release the pokeball from his grasp. There was no hostility between them now. The warmth of the scaly flesh was comforting as the trainer swung one leg so he could position himself on the nape of the dragon's neck. His rear was rested between his wings, arms outstretched to catch the Pikachu as the mouse daringly leaped from the Charizard's unfurled wings. He held the mouse close to his chest as the Charizard began to beat his wings furiously, becoming airborne within a few moments. The air was thin and the trip was a boring one. Red moved around a lot, kneeling between the Charizard's shoulder blades at one point, then laying across his back at another. Pikachu wasn't very fond of air travel, so he clung to Red's shirt like a scaredy Meowth the whole time. The water was so blue under them, it was like they were flying upside down and looking down at the sky. Or up, rather. It wasn't until his eyes came across the volcano ravished island did his mood falter back to gloom. It was upsetting, so much scientific progress had gone on at Cinnabar. That cool mansion he had walked through to find the key? Gone. "Look," His finger moved towards the atmosphere where another Charizard was flying. Could it be? He had heard rumors that he came here a lot, but could it really be? "Fly down there, will you?" He asked, shifting his body forward so he sat with his legs locked over his shoulders again, crimson eyes glittering curiously. <Tha' Charizard looks familiar!> The rat growled, static-conducting fur prickling. <Thats because it is familiar. It's Blue's. See, he's down there.> Flames licked at the roof of his mouth as he dove downward to land somewhat close to Blue. "Ah... Blue and Leaf." The boy mused as the dragon landed, snorting irritably. His cold, navy eyes watched the Charizard that was circling overhead, then eyed the rest of Blue's unchanged team. Pikachu leaped from the dragon, glaring at the Umbreon. <You.> Sparks rained from his cheeks until he saw Leaf. Then he fell in love all over again. <Oh, I though' I'd never see me love 'gain!> He bolted for the girl, rubbing his face against her leg. Red slipped off the Charizard to greet the duo, walking towards the two slowly. Golduck was the first to notice this stranger. His head popped from under the surface after seeing the Blastoise’s flail above him. Instinct told him to engage the trainer, to dissuade them from finding Blue. Oh, how he hated to be disturbed while training, especially here. But Golduck was no fool and sensed the pokemon’s power. Instead, the water pokemon lurked from behind, happily following and wondering if this trainer would discover Blue. Angry for once, bubbles drifted from Golduck’s bill when the woman jumped on the island and her pokemon followed. An angry Blue is never a good blue, the pokemon thought before submerging again.
“Ready again. This time Tyranitar use,” Blue stopped when he noticed his lost his pokemon’s focus. Losing the giant rock pokemon wasn’t any surprise, but Scizor’s attention was never lost. The oversized bug never cared about anything except Blue’s orders so he diverted attention put the gym leader on alert. When the teasing voice flew through the air, Blue turned stiff. He had never seen a living soul go past the rocky ascent. They usually just looked at the island, oh no gym, and swum away. Instantly, he formed a response and turned around, Umbreon settling on side with his Scizor leaping to his other. Of course, Tyranitar cared little for the comment and siply “Not many trainers can—“ he stopped and stared at the young woman’s face. The smug face turned into a shocked expression. He looked at the bright face again and then the Blastoise and then the girl’s body and then the Blastoise’s cannons. “Shit! Leaf, is that you?” If the familiar woman was unfamiliar and not Leaf, this would be embarrassing.
Above, Charizard neglected to notice the girl approaching Blue. Delight blinded him as he navigated through the skies. He tucked his wings in for a roll, but when he exited, he saw a familiar sight. It was that pokemon. Hovering, he glared as he saw the orange shape on the horizon he soared to the ground. Then he collided with said ground, causing Umbreon to fall to the ground, footing lost. Blue glanced up, glaring at his scaled companion. Charizard’s head touched his trainer’s shoulder as the fire lizard growled <They found us.> Distracted by the possible Leaf, Blue glared at the Charizard. “Who’s they?” he whispered as he shoved the Charizard off. The dragon didn’t need to answer because, behold, another Charizard landed not too far from Blue’s position. The air from the landing ruffled his hair and clothes but Blue stayed firm, scowling at his rival. He didn’t want this, to meet both of them at the same time. Leaf was a surprise, but Red was a not so pleasant surprise. He weasn’t ready for this. Umbreon gave a feminine growl as the Pikachu faced her off. The growl went away as she narrowed her eyes and gave a halfway glance at the pokemon. <Yes me. Couldn't stay away, couldn’t you shortie?>
the Umbreon teased. Of course, the words probably fell on stupefied ears as the Pikachu rushed toward the stranger girl. Umbreon’s ears drooped and then flicked into their normal position. “Hey, Red,” answered Blue, wiping the scowl to a more neutral expression.[/blockquote] [/blockquote] [/blockquote]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Leaf's small smug smile widened a bit as the two battling pokemon caught wind of her arrival. It was nice to be noticed, and it was no surprise that pokemon as strong looking as these had. Leaf quickly gave them the once-over with her practiced gaze. The Scizor looked to be extremely well-trained, not the type to get distracted easily. The Tyranitar.....not so much. Oh, he looked strong, don't get her wrong, but he didn't have the air the Scizor did, the one of practice. Leaf knew that her own Scyther was drinking in the sight of the Scizor without even looking at him, and of course he was. Scizor was, after all, the evolved form of Scyther. It was only natural that he would want to know more. The girl turned her head to him briefly, as if to ask what he thought.
<Dear Arceus,> the Scyther muttered under his breath. <If that's what my evovled form looks like, I think I'll just stay like this forever,> the Blastoise, who was right beside him, responded to this uncharacteristic piece of humour with an appreciative snort, before stiffening as the Dragonair cried down a warning. <There's another Charizard coming in,>he sensed the approach of yet another pokemon screeched out Airy. <And it's got.......Red?> The Blastoise's eyes widened in horror. He didn't mind Red so much, no, he thought the kid was fine. It was his pokemon that he had an aversion to. If Red was here, then so was the small yellow thing, as Blasty preferred to call the Pikachu.
Sure enough, as soon as the large fire pokemon touched the ground, a small yellow shape scampered off. When he noticed the Umbreon, Blasty nearly fainted in relief, before the Pikachu caught wind of Leaf and started running over to her. <Kill me now.> the large water pokemon grumbled. Anything was better than having to talk to exchange insults with the yellow mouse. Leaf, however, was totally oblivious to Blasty's disdain. "Pikachu!" she exclaimed, before attempting to scoop him up and nuzzle him with her face. "I'd recognize that cute-ness anywhere! And this must mean that Red's here too." she looked around, and sure enough, sighted him along with the other pokemon trainer.
When the other one called out her name, Leaf knew that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. It was him! It was Blue! Older, and taller, but still the same Blue. Her expression morphed in to a delighted one, before she was running across the ground to fling her arms around him in a hug. She was a spontaneous person, and this was one of her many spur-of-the-moment ideas. And Red was here too! It was kind of like a reunion, in a way. The three Pallet Town children finally meeting again. Except hopefully this time without the trying-to-kill-each-other bit. Blue and Red had tended to do that a bit as kids.Words: 486 Notes: Nope Pokemon: Blastoise, Scyther, and Dragonair
His eyes weren't playing tricks on him for sure. His Pikachu raced away to go have a bittersweet reunion with Leaf, obviously having missed the girl since their Hoenn gathering. As Red was pulling his leg over to get off his dragon, the Charizard that had been flying over the training area practically landed on top of Blue. His umbreon was knocked off his paws as the Fire-type tackled the ground, nuzzling Blue with his head. Blue was scowling at him even as he slid from the lizard's back and moved towards Leaf and himself. “Hey, Red,” The boy looked up at the former Champion who was no longer scowling at him from behind his stupid little Umbreon. "Eh...? Hello, Blue."
The boy replied with a small, awkward wave. Umbreon was indeed ignored as he streaked across the rocky terrain towards the female character, tail waving back and forth. Leaf seemed just as ecstatic as Pikachu was, she cried out his name as he ran up. Her slender arms wrapped around his small body and he squealed happily as she lifted him up into the air and pressed her face into his static-conducting fur. He rubbed his furry face against hers with a happy cry. "I'd recognize that cute-ness anywhere! And this must mean that Red's here too." The mouse nodded into her face. He was enjoying it so much he didn't realize she was eyeballing the boys a few yards away. She dropped him to run towards them. He hit the ground with an oof and watched as she kicked up dirt and rocks as she abandoned him there alone. He coughed out a mouthful of dirt and furrowed his brow. Upset. That was all he felt as his lover threw her arms around that sniveling umbreon jockey. Red stood there somewhat awkwardly as Leaf ran over and practically jumped onto Blue's face happily. The boy adjusted his cap and watched as his heartbroken Pikachu ran over, tears glistening in his beady eyes. The mouse buried his face in Red's pantleg for a few dire moments before looking up at the trio. "We're all together again." [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ------------------------------------ & I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE TO LOSE MY HEAD
The Scizor gave an odd look at the Scyther, looking rather astonished. It had been a while since he’d seen his undervolution. Clipping his claws together, the pokemon thought about what to do with this bug pokemon before him. In the end, he decided to do nothing, like always. He adjusted his posture to a more relaxed on, curling his massive claws over one another. It wasn’t until the duo of Charizards landed did the Scizor change his position. It was one of alert, not at Blue’s but at, of course, Red’s. He snapped his claws together before turning to not caring at all. Not much motivated the Scizor. “Surprised to see you again. How’s the new life treating you?”
As he spoke, his guarded tone turned more pleasant. Not anywhere close to cheerful or happy but enough to convince the two he wasn’t forcing the conversation, which he wasn’t. For now. He had to chose each word carefully. Like Red said, this was a reunion of sorts. No one was going to blame Blue for ruining a meeting like this. He watched as the Pikachu challenged Umbreon and sprinted into Leaf’s arms. He wasn’t happy, to say the least, but nonetheless, Blue gave an amused smile. “Your pokemon seem lively as ever.” He always noticed the difference. Red’s pokemon always seemed a bit livelier, but Blue didn’t give a damn. This Pikachu was absolutely repulsive. Running up to some human, nuzzling her like a baby pichu. Umbreon sighed. <I always knew he was a strange one,> she said, mostly to the Scizor, who nodded as if steel bars forced him to. On the other hand, the Charizard chuckled at the comment. <Just normal shoulder candy antics.> the fire pokemon responded. Either way, Charizard had to be weary of the little rat. He packed a punch as good as any. Of course, when the pokemon was abandoned in the dirt and ash. Umbreon and Charizard chuckled. <Crying shame, isn’t it,> she spat out. Blue smiled at Leaf brightened up as he said her name. He assumed the years had made the memory of Blue fade. He expected a smile, just like the smile that coming across his, but the running Leaf was quite unexpected. He blinked once and on the second blink, Leaf was wrapping her arms around him. Like always, he could never expect what she was going to do next. After recovering from the shock, his arms traveled around her waist, growing tighter before he broke the hug. “It’s such a surprise to see you again. He glanced up, looking at the large water turtle. "Little Squirtle sure grew up,” he said as he looked at her. “An old school Pallet Town reunion.” Then serenity was ruined. Tyranitar, Mr. New Recruit surrounded by unfamiliar people erupted. He watched as the two Charizard landed and then something snapped. He roared, shrill and high, and stopped his stone tail, swishing a cloud of dust and ash. <Finally!> he stomped forward and smashed his tail. Then shards of stones lifted. His claws lifted, ready to strike at both Charizards. Blue huffed. “Stay here, Leaf,” he said as rushed around his Charizard and stared at Tyranitar. “Stop,” he commanded. The pokemon growled as trainer and pokemon entered a battle of glares. Suddenly, the pokemon dropped the gathered rocks and they fell to the floor. <Killjoy> Blue grabbed a pokeball and returned the pokemon. Hidden from the view of Red and Leaf, his face turned red with embarrassment and anger. After he was positive his face was normal, he turned around. “Sorry about him. I’m still training him.” He was surprised the words came out so fast. He wondered how Red would react to the unfamiliar pokemon. Umbreon gave a dissatisfied look. Yes, it was her idea to capture the pokemon, but he just seemed too much trouble at the point. Instead of worrying, Umbreon approached Leaf, lifting her head to the trainer’s hand. Sassy as she would, the Umbreon adored attention and Blue liked her so why wouldn’t Umbreon like this Leaf girl. [/blockquote][/blockquote] [/blockquote]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As soon as Leaf had completed her mad dash across the ground, her pokemon began to follow. The Blastoise, still snickering at the Pikachu's reckless abandon, waddled over at a slower pace than the rest. He knew Red and Blue from when he was a little Squirtle, when Leaf had taken him from the lab unannounced. He had seen them and their starter pokemon. None of them had ever done anything harmful to Leaf. The Scyther was a different sort. He had never seen these two before, though undoubtedly he had heard of them. However, his nature was of a worried sort. Unofficially, it was his job to be anxious about his trainer and her welfare. So wearily, he flitted after his trainer, but not before shooting an exasperated glance at his fellow pokemon.
After a moment, Leaf finally loosened her arms and let go, to step back and grin up at him. Wait a moment- was he taller than her? Damn stupid boys and their damn stupid tall-ness. Even Red was taller than her! That made Leaf the shortest person there, unless you counted the pokemon. In which case, it would either be Pikachu or the Umbreon. Crap! Pikachu! With a slightly guilty look on her face, Leaf turned to look at the small electric pokemon. "Sorry, Pika," she winced. She had been so excited to see Blue, whom she hadn't seen in ages, that she had just discarded her friend's pokemon like a candy wrapper. Whoops.
But there would be time for apologies later. In the meantime.......carefully, the girl assessed Blue. What else had changed? Well, he still looked stubborn, and his hair was still as spiky as ever, but now, he looked more assured. Oh, and hotter. Leaf grinned. She supposed they all did, being all young and grown-up as they were, but for some reason, she noticed it more in Blue than in Red. Probably because, having seen him more recently, they were more close than she and Blue were. Speaking of Red......the girl turned to him and propped her hands on her hips. "Do you want a hug too?" she asked playfully. It was only fair. One for Blue, and one for Red. Now she had to do was prevent them from setting themselves at each others throats. She assumed not much had changed since they were kids, though she had heard rumours. "You're right, it is a reuinion," she said, her eyes sparkling. "Now we just have to make sure you two don't destroy each other," pausing for a moment, the girl tilted her head to one side. "That felt a bit funny coming out."
The Blastoise was not to be forgotten. <'Little Squirtle' is now a big Blastoise, thanks,> he growled out as soon as he made it to Leaf's side, before giving a stubby-toothed smile. He was just as pleased to see Red and Blue together without trying to destroy each other as his trainer was, and even more pleased to see their pokemon. Red's Charizard was the only one he remembered, though, apart from the damn electric mouse. Airy also drifted over, and draped herself over the large water pokemon's shoulders. <Don't be grumpy,> she scolded in a sing-song way. <Don't scare them off either. The Pikachu's funny, and they, she nodded at the two Charizards, <Are like giant dragons. I like dragons,>
The two pokemon, however, were given a shock as the Tyranitar roared his discontent. Airy gave a quick, sharp whistle, a personality quirk which indicated surprise, before rearing up. The Blastoise took a small step back before prepping the giant blasters on his back. The green bug pokemon, however, was given much more of a shock. Even though he liked to pretend he was calm and cool, in reality, he thrived of nervous-ness and disaster. Quickly, he attempted to pull his trainer back in a sad attempt to get her away from the giant heavy dinosaur. He almost succeeded too, before she turned around to look at him. "Scythe, no. Blue's got it covered." The bug pokemon stared at his trainer as if she was crazy, but released her to put a blade over his face and shake his head at her folly. <She's going to kill herself one day, I swear.>
Leaf shrugged when Blue returned. "No biggie. I've got an Aerodactyl who's like that. Unpredictable. He's also culture-shocked," she muttered under her breath. The girl took a moment to look over at Red with an expression that clearly read 'Please don't start.' then again, perhaps that was a pointless question to ask. Instead, she turned her attention to the Umbreon, kneeling on the ground to get better petting access. "You," she told the dark pokemon, "Are beautiful, gorgeous even," <And even better,> Blasty added. <You're not Pikachu,> before sending an evil smirk towards Red and the electric rat. “Surprised to see you again. How’s the new life treating you?” He sounded less of an unpleasant company than before, his voice brightening up a little as the question fell from his lips. Red shrugged in reply, his eyes moving back to look at Blue for a moment before they went back towards the slabs of cooled magma that covered Cinnabar. "Eh."
Was all he said in reply, his eyes moving between Blue and his Pokémon slowly. After a few minutes of watching Leaf and Pikachu have a reunion, Red looked back and saw an amused smile playing on Blue's lips. What the hell was he up to now? “Your pokemon seem lively as ever.” Again, the Champion shrugged awkwardly, listening as the Gym Leader's Pokémon began chatting amongst themselves. He couldn't help but eavesdrop with them in close proximity. "Yeah, I guess." The conversation was extremely challenging for the boy with the awful social skills after being stuck on that mountain. And the fact he hadn't seen his childhood rival in a few years-- that accounted for his lack of words too. ... And the fact he was a man of few words. Watching those two hug was pretty cute. He couldn't help but laugh when Blue stiffened as Leaf pretty much tackled him. The hug didn't last too long and suddenly Leaf was rounding on him and asking if he wanted a hug. He adjusted his cap and smiled weakly, "N-No, I'm fine without one." Besides, he wouldn't want Blue getting jealous, right? “It’s such a surprise to see you again. Little Squirtle sure grew up. An old school Pallet Town reunion.” Red stayed silent, halfheartedly thinking he should show off his starter. But what good would that be? Then his Venusaur would just want to lounge in the sun and not go back in his pokeball. Leaf's Blastoise indignantly replied to Blue's comment once he made his way over. Then Blue's Tyranitar came storming over, roaring a challenge at the two Charizards. Proudly, Red's Charizard unfurled his wings to appear as a bigger foe, flames licking at the roof on his mouth. Cold navy eyes fixed on the Tyranitar, he looked ready to break some skulls. Blue rushed over to stop the Tyranitar from going berserk on them and stood there with his back turned for a few minutes. Red patted his Charizard's side, the dragon relaxed with an irritated snort. “Sorry about him. I’m still training him.” Leaf immediately jumped in about her culturally confused Aerodactyl, shooting Red a look in the process. What? His head tilted ever so slightly at the look in her eye but simply waved his hand in the air dismissively, "Your Tyranitar is very obedient. If it was anyone else's, it probably would have eaten us by now." He offered weakly to blow off Blue's embarrassment. Meanwhile, his Pikachu began screeching at the outrageous ideas of the Blastoise. Better than him? Pah! The rat leaped at the Blastoise, climbing right on top of him and resting on his bottom right on his head. "Dumb turtle! Lets see you get me from up here!" [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ------------------------------------ & I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE TO LOSE MY HEAD
