--------------------------------------- So he was lost again. Yeah, he had completely gotten side-tracked by a pretty the sight of a pair of beautiful wings weaving themselves through the small city. Nate, with his small obsession for beautiful things wandered off from his companion into the lively town, it was a rare sight to see Pokemon around the town, and this place wasn't exactly the best home for a Pokemon to just wander in. Weaving his way in and out of shopping stands and the many other towns people, the pretty butterfly was always just out of his reach, every so often he would reach his hand out and try to touch it, but every time the multi-colored butterfly would flap it's beautiful wings and the situation would just repeat; chase, reach, chase, reach. Now he found himself standing in front of a enormous brick building. He hadn't even noticed that the sound of the busy town was now lacking in the air, replaced by nothing more than the sound of his ragged breath, exhausted from his late night run.
His eyes followed the worn down bricks of the clock tower as they laid rest on the giant bell at the top of the tower, just as it began its first booming chimes across the courtyard, a sign of the dropping sun in the distance. The sound was painful for Nate, who simply possessed an unwanted skill of unnaturally good hearing, as he pressed squeezed his eyes shut and pressed the palms of his hands against the sides of his cranium, the chime of the bell echoing through his head as he tripped in reverse and stumbled over a marble bench and toppling backwards over it. His hands scrambling to catch himself as he rolled backwards, bare elbows scraping the stone plated ground as he tumbled to a stop just as the melody stopped and he was left again in silence, a humbled mess on the ground. Droplets of crimson liquid flowed off his elbow and splattered on the ground, salty tears pooled in the bases of his eye, but refused to streak down his face, as the emotional boy lay motionless in the crumpled heap. Gentle pain surged from the new wound, as he scrambled to get to his feet. The Beautifly that had led him here flew past him as it returned from its visit to the clock tower, sweeping up into the sky and out of sight over some trees, leaving Nate to clutch his bruised elbow with his free hand. If anything he really wished that Oliver was here now.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Oliver sighed as the crowds of people began to thin out a little. He picked up his jacket's hood and draped it over his head, covering the very top of his forehead, and continued to push his way through the crowd. Most were heading home as the sun dipped into the horizon, and a few others were starting to come out. Those few youths who prowled the night like angry pokemon (some where actually pokemon but still) waiting to get their hands on whatever little meat they could. Oliver payed no attention to any of them, he continued to push his way through the thinning crowd.
And then his brown eyes spotted something like a white mop of hair. His smile widened a bit as he recognize the hair. Yup, that was his little guard friend Natey. He quickened his pace to catch up with the little boy, dodging past some people here and there. It didn't take him long to lose the Mespirit replica, Nate could be a slippery little fish. But being on the outskirts of town now, Oliver figured that he coudn't have gone very far. The only other bulding out here was the bell tower, and as the bell started to ring Oliver was quickly making his way to it.
As the final chime sounded Oliver was standing in the door way watching as his little friend tumbled to the ground. He let out a soft chuckle and walked towards Nate, who was lying in a mess on the ground. He bent down, his head hovering over the little's boy and titled it to the side. His black hair drooped down a bit, framing his temple. "So explain to me how the bench got the better of you." he started. placing his hand on Nate's arm and lightly picking it up. "Battle wounds don't go well with Heart." he sighed, looking at the bruised up elbow. It wasn't that bad to Oliver at least, but looking at the little boy who was almost in tears. "Do you need to be carried?" he started joking a little, putting down Nate's arm and crossing his.

The klutzy teenager let out a squeak when his chocolate-haired friend drooped his head over his own fallen position. He had heard the quiet footsteps of another person approaching, neither expected it to be his Azelf companion OR for the older boy to appear suddenly in his face. He swung his arms outward as he tried to continue his previous attempt to get himself back on his feet. He was stopped yet again as he felt Oliver's hands grabbing hold of one of his arms and pulling him back onto his feet. The world turning right-side up as he stumbled a step in the firm grasp of Oliver's fingers. "It didn't...I didn't...it was..." The boy began waving his hands franticly, stuttering over his worlds as he tried to fork out some kind of excuse about his latest mishap, but he wasn't actually the best person to start making up lies about things. Not to mention the sudden flailing, an un-thought out movement was hurting his arm even more. "I didn't see it." He at last admitted, dropping his head as he allowed his bruised elbow to be inspected by the older boy. A shiver went through his body as the other boy twisted his arm to get a better view of the bruise, the twisted position of his arm stretching at the skin around his open wound. So Oliver may think that it wasn't much, but he was strong, completely unlike him.
Nate didn't even know why he was a guard for Heart but Nate hated any kind of feeling of pain and even this slightest almost pain-less bruise was pooling up the tears in his eyes, his arm falling tensely down to his side when Oliver released it, Oliver's comment about Heart flowing swiftly though his mind and his voice suddenly turned into one of whining in begging. He honestly cared about the throne he and Oliver, as well as Derek, care after; he didn't want her to worry about something so silly. He was barely any of help to the throne, Yogi and Oliver were excellent fighters, and he hadn't even involving himself in something so harmful. He brought he arm over his face and rubbed at the sparkling pools of teardrops. "She doesn't need to worry, I'm fine!" He smiled, pumping his injured arm up and down, though he regretted his sudden movement quickly, yet again as he moved without thinking as the slight bruise pained him again it was just, the amount of pain he was feeling now wasn't the kind of pain which would make someone like Oliver or Derek cry. He blinked his eyes to pull back tears; pulling back in startled shock at Oliver's comment, he was too old to be getting carried around.
"N-N-N-No, I said it was fine, it's just my arm, I can walk, look-" He skipped around to Oliver's opposite side, hoping up and down on his feet and twirling in a circle, if one had to guess they certainly wouldn't expect him to be anywhere over the age of fourteen, skipping several steps in a circle, trying to make a truly convincing representation that he was a-ok. "We can just go back to town now, right?" He moved several steps toward Oliver till he stood a couple feet away, "I don't really like this huge clock tower."

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ It seemed Heart had all the same ties with her guards. Oliver didn't want her to worry about him and the least, and even Nate would make himself seem fine (even when Oliver knew better). He watched his little friend make a little fool out of himself. It made Oliver chuckle to think of that little bruises giving Nate such trouble. He had to hand it to the mespirt replica though, Nate did a great job at putting a smile on Oliver's face. Nate's silly antics always where good for a laugh or two. Plus he was so easy to tease and mock.
Oliver gave Nate a strange look as he started to hop around like a little twelve year old boy. Nate sure did act like a kid most of the time, the only problem with that was he didn't have the mentality of a kid. Nate really wasn't near as innocent, Oliver thought lightly scratching at his chin. "Nope not at all." he finished in though speaking aloud, trailing the boy with his dark brown eyes. He lifted one eyebrow, clearly not convinced by Nate's charade. "Well whatever." Oliver shrugged it off, even though he was still worried. It was hard to not worry about Nate.
"I am pretty sure Town is no better." Oliver said. see He ruffled Nate's white hair with his left hand, a sly smile on his face. "You see, all those ruffians running lose, you knows what would happen." Oliver added, turning his back to Nate and looking at the door of the tower. He could somewhat see the town, it's lights flickering off in the distance. Hues of red, yellow, and orange off in the horizon from the lights. "How about we stay here?" he asked turning back to face the boy. "It wouldn't be sooooo bad right?" he asked teasing Nate. "afraid something's gonna get you?"

Nate's facial figures turned down into a small frown as his suggestion was turned down. His scarlet eyes drifting towards the massive clock tower as his friend ruffled his white locks, wincing as several strands drifted over his eye lashes. He listened silently to the words that Oliver spoke; he didn't really think that there were too many of these 'ruffians' in the town. Everyone seemed to nice to him, he had never really had had problems, but obviously his thoughts were nowhere near similar to what Oliver seemed to think, and Nate wasn't going to say anything about the decision, even though this clock tower really did send a cold chill down his spine. There was a sense of mystery that rested over the area and it tapped into some of Nate's own psychic powers.
"Okay." Nate simply agreed with a single word to Oliver's question, his face suddenly flushed at the older boys teasing comment, sure this place gave him the creeps, but it wasn't like he was afraid...at least that's what he had forced himself to believe. Putting on an unconsciously pouty face as he put on a brave front and replied, "I'm not afraid of anything, here!" He bragged, though rather Nate actually believed his own words wasn't even known to him, as he stepped away from his companion and moved towards the building. The chiming of the bell was fading to a quiet echo in his head now, but as it faded he thought he could hear sounds coming from the building, it was the sound of something scratching at the inside of the clock tower, it's claws scratching of something wooden.
The white-headed boy was tempted to go into the tall building to put an identity to the noise, but he had to admit that a force in his mind was calling him away from it all and just telling him that even if he didn't identify the noise nothing in his life would change, but the curiosity in his nature took him over. "There's something in there!" Nate exclaimed, spinning around to face Oliver, "What if something is trapped inside?!" He was worrying that some kind of small Pokemon was caught inside, what if it starved, what if it-. So many different worries above whatever was inside swept through his mind, it was probably nothing, but the poor boy was leaning on all the what-ifs.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Oliver watched Natey rather closely, from the brave look he tried to put on his face -it didn't convince Oliver still- to the sudden twirl and step towards the building. He narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms against his chest. Oliver didn't bother to move, he didn't think that Natey would enter the building. Of course if he did, Oliver would follow close behind. But that little feeling he got a cold, chilling feel that made the hair on his neck stand up didn't help the explore the tower option. It wasn't that Oliver was scared per se, he just worried about Nate. He didn't think the younger guard would do so well if something creepy jumped out and try to attack them or curse them. Oliver didn't want to have to deal with a Nate that was afraid to move, but then again, he could always drag him out.
"It might be a bug." he muttered, taking one step closer as his younger friend turned around. He uncrossed his hands, and ran one though his straight brown hair, tugging at the strands on top. He took another step, dropping down his hands, and looking closely at the building. Oliver himself heard the faint scratching on the wood, but his first thought wasn't a hungry, little, pokemon that was trapped in the building about to die. Nope, Oliver thought was more centered around a blood thirsty beast trying to draw in some helpless victim, much like it was doing to Nate. "It could be a helpless pokemon though." Oliver muttered taking a step closer to the building.
"I think we should go see." He added looking down at Nate. Now would be a good time to walking into the building, figuring Nate would follow close behind. He didn't walk any further though, and continue to stare at the building. He didn't like the scratching sound that could faintly be heard. "Would you be u-" he started to offer, before a zangoose screech pierced the air. Oliver quickly brought himself to a battle stance, his shoulder straightening themselves up his hands clenched into a fist ready to attack. He waited a couple seconds, taking in his surroundings, and watching for the zangoose to jump out and attack them. Within moments of the screech, the red and white moongoose pokemon came flying out, aiming itself directly at the two replicas.
