Friendly: Ruka is extremely friendly to new people he meets, he doesn't like mean people and doesn't wish to become one himself. He likes making people happy, and will do anything to help someone else.
Smart: Ruka is a bright kid, knowing more than most of his family members and getting high marks in most tests he does. He knows most of what he needs to know, spending more time reading than playing out with others. However this does have it's bad points.

Shy: Ruka is extremely shy, meaning although he is friendly towards people he doesn't tend to speak. One reason for his lack of speech was his inability to speak for the first 11 years of his life [due to what is thought to be selective muteness].
Isolated: Although being a friendly person, Ruka has a habit of locking himself away from others. He prefers to be alone with a book than being outside, and is also scared of being in a crowd of too many people. He does like being outside, aslong as he's left alone most of the time.

Being the only other pokemon Ruka owns at this stage, Minun also gets quite alot of attention from it's trainer. Minun was another pokemon given to Ruka by his 'brother' who'd caught it on his journey through Hoenn and decided it would be better if Ruka had it.
