The silence that fell over his sleeping hometown was absolutely terrifying, but the dark sky that loomed overhead reminded him that he wasn't supposed to be back in Pallet Town anyways. They thought he was dead, or stranded somewhere alone. All he could think of was his poor mother who was probably worrying herself to death over him. But for some reason, he couldn't bring himself any further into town. He couldn't fathom approaching his old home with such a scraggly appearance. On the other hand, he could. Red could see his bony knuckles rasp against the wooden door, leaning carefully on the door frame with his Pikachu sitting eagerly at his feet. He winced at the thought of the bright lights from the home flooding the twilight infested air and a grim-looking female standing there, eying him. Ah yes, he couldn't imagine his mother a day over the age she had been the moment he had left, although he couldn't recall the slight details of her face. But he could, however, imagine the frown that would crease her lips as she studied her son.
Instead of pushing his luck, he sat down in the grass, his little yellow partner giving him a concerned look. <Why ye lookin' so down, Red? Break up with your girlfriend?> The Pikachu asked sincerely, although his sympathy attempt was a failure. The boy looked over at the Electric-type and then adjusted his cap mutely. His fingers clutched the brim gingerly and lifted it upward, allowing it to rest at his hairline. Frowning, the yellow ball of static and fur crawled into his trainer's lap, chin rested against his calf. The silence that followed the shuffling of paws against the dead grass was almost natural for the duo, with Red being quite the silent type. "Chuu.." The Pikachu croaked from his spot, blinking up at the sullen trainer with beady eyes.
The moonlight was little company for the two, casting its cold glow upon the boy's pale features. He just wanted to fall asleep there and wake up to familiar faces standing over him. The life of a Champion was cold and desolate but it certainly wasn't a regrettable one. He reached out and touched the Electric Mouse's fur, the tingling sensation numbing his sense of touch. Arceus, he needed to get away from this place.

There was anything, but silence, around the ace trainer as he made his way through the tall grassy plains underneath the gloomy sky, lit up by the full moon. His newly received blue elephant, the source of the loud chattering, trotted no more than several inches from his heels, more than once the tiny, blue creature had tripped his trainer. More than once it had gotten a few scolding words from its trainer; and more than once it had just returned to the same position at Gold's heels, puttering along on its tiny blue legs. The rest of his Pokemon remained safe in their own red and white capsules as he felt a single drop of water fall onto his face, though a look into the sky proved the sudden feeling to be nothing more than his own imagination as he adjusted the hat atop his well-kept hair. Combed with such extreme precision as such that every strand of hair was in the exact position he wanted, finished off with several sprays of strong hair spray and a bit of hair gel, topped with his trade mark yellow and black hat, and he had the perfect look to get any female he wanted. Not that he was really focusing on finding himself some new girls right now. He had a different mission in mind; one of the few missions that actually meant more to him then finding a new hot girl, a mission that topped the thrill of winning yet another gamble at the Goldenrod Game Corner.
The ebony-haired boy had been traveling in Kanto for several weeks now and so far he had yet to find even the slightest incident to challenge his skills as one of the top trainers of the Johto region. Sure he had made a few side-trips to the Celadon Game Corner for a bit of gambling, and to earn some extra cash for his journey, sure he had gotten side-tracked by some hot girls, but along the way he had overheard that the Kanto Champion had been sighted numerous times on his way to his own destination. Yet, Gold seemed to constantly be just one step behind. Finally, while making a stop in Viridian City in hopes to face it's Gym Leader, he learned that the Kanto Champion, Red, had been seen making his way towards his home town of Pallet Town. Seeing as how the Gym was currently lacking its Gym Leader, Gold decided to make a little side trip, down the grassy Route 1 towards Pallet Town.
And thus continues the present story as the self-proclaimed champion of the Johto region brushed aside tall strands of grass sticking up from the still-dry ground underfoot. He stopped his trudge onward, stopping for a moment just outside a batch of the tall grass to fix a loose shoelace. His sudden stop startled the Phanpy at his feet as he collided with its trainer, nearly sending both of them to the ground. <What?! Are we there yet? I'm tired. We're there now, right, right?> The red-plated elephant snorted loudly as it leaped forward through the tall grass into the open, disappointment flooding through the small mammal when it was only greeted by more grass.
"Chill a little, Rolan." The teenager coughed as he breathed in a batch of dusty fumes, rubbing his noise with the back of his hand as he straightened himself to overlook the hill. "I can see the houses now!" He suddenly exclaimed, a chill of excitement running down his spine as he stepped forward, walking through the two trees that marked the entrance of Pallet Town. The small town was quiet compared to the various other towns he had visited on his Kanto adventure. But, if he was able to get what he came here for, the peaceful tranquility of this place wouldn't be lasting much longer.
Short black hair, always with a Pikachu, red clothes. The description of the Kanto Champion were vague, but descriptive enough once he had spotted the yellow and red figures sitting in the green vegetation. He clutched both hands in excitement as he broke the silence that had engulfed him and Rolan with a sudden outburst of noise. "Reeeeed!" His pace fastened as he approached the trainer, not a doubt in his mind that this wasn't the trainer he had been looking for. His own companion Pokemon leaping even quicker towards the other trainer and his Pokemon. "I'm here to challenge you to a Pokemon battle!" He pointed a figure at the relaxing trainer. The moonlight gently overlapping his figure and the competitive smirk set across his lips.
[OOC: I wasn't sure rather they had met previously or not for the roleplay, so I'm just making this their first encounter. AREN'T I SMART?! /shot Either way, I had like a BURST of muse, halfway through, BUT NOW LOOK! YOU CAN SEE MY CRAPPY POSTING : D]

Their star-gazing was interrupted by the far off cry of yet another trainer. His red eyes moved towards the distant shape that grew from a dot to a full bodied male, brown hair flattened under his gold and black cap. The boy sub-consciously adjusted the cap, swallowing whatever anxiety had made its home in his tightening throat. His name was called across the distance, swirling through the moonlight until it reached the Champion's ears. The form began to quicken his pace until he was just a few feet from Red, a challenge and a smug expression on his lips. The boy's eyebrows rose as the opponent pointed one finger at him. Slowly, the Kanto Champion's head tilted downward in a slight nod. The yellow ball leaped from the trainer's lap as he rose steadily to his feet. A harsh noise rumbled in the mouse's throat, static crackling from his red cheeks.
The boy held his hand up to indicate to the Pikachu that he wouldn't be the opener of this fight. His pale fingers moved to his belt, removing one small sphere. He seemed confident in his choice, whatever it was. His quiet voiced filled the twilight sky, "Charizard," His hand jerked, sending the red and white ball through the air. "Come on out." A thunderous crack exploded from the center of the Pokéball, a red light erupting from the capturing device's middle. It struck the ground like a ravenous bolt of lightning, twisting and curling its bright light until it had a definite shape. This only lasted a few seconds before the light faded and the ball flew back to the trainer's palm.
A roar was emitted by the hulking leather body, lashing his flame-tipped tail through the air. Cold eyes fixed on Gold, almost confused as to why he was being pitted against someone so small. The reptile's jaws parted slightly, a jagged set of fangs coated in saliva making a brief appearance before an inferno bubbled past his tongue. Easy prey. That was what the Charizard thought when he pounded his wings with downward strokes, the grass bent towards Gold as the dragon created great gales that tore at the earth and at clothing like a helicopter. He remained grounded for now, waiting for the foe to call out some wimpy Pokémon. Meanwhile, Red stood on the sidelines, his Pikachu rested on his right shoulder. He lifted one hand and waved it dismissively towards Gold, as if offering him the first move.

A tingle of excitement coursed through Gold's body as he watched the red-clad trainer mutely get to his feet, the yellow ball of static jumped out of its trainers lap and faced off against Ruby, sparks lighting up the evening sky as he could hear a electricity-like noise rumbling from within the creatures throat. Expecting for this Pokemon to be his opponent he parted his lips in preparation to call up his Phanpy, the only ground type on his team and the best option against an electric-type as the yellow fluff ball. But he instantly closed his lips when the Kanto Champion moved a hand in front of the Pikachu, pausing the companion Pokemons actions as he retrieved one of the small double colored spheres from his belt, speaking a single, quiet word as he tossed the circular object into the evening air. If Gold had been standing any farther back, he may not have even picked up on Red's choice of Pokemon, yet now that he knew his opponents selection, as the holding capsule exploded into a collection of glowing lights, he ran his own tanned fingers over the Pokeballs at his waist.
His fingers running over the warm surface of each one of the six spheres attached to his belt. A small collection of elements all at his finger-tips, the anxiety was overwhelming as he finally rested his thin finger tips over the Pokeball two spots to the right. Unsnapping it and lifting it up, cupped within the palm of his finger as he watched the giant lizard emerge from it's Pokeball, letting out a giant inferno blast into the air, coloring the ground a wide array of oranges, reds, and yellows before lashing out several strong gusts of winds with it's leathery wings. Sending loose strands of grass flying into the air as Gold simply blinked slightly as the gust dried his eyes.
Red had moved off several feet now, waiting on the side-lines for Gold to call out his own Pokemon, and he wasn't going to let his opponent or the roaring Charizard wait any longer. As he tossed the red and white ball into the air, he shouted a simple call-out for his choice. "Come on, Aeon!" An explosion of crimson colored lights escaping from it as it opened mid-air and the bright illumination swirled around a spiky figure before it solidified into view and the Pokeball fell back into its owner's hand. Now, standing several yards in front of Charizard, was a spiky yellow and white. Small sparks of electricity leaped all along it's spiky furred coat as it growled at the taller fire-type. Despite it's normally docile nature, the medium-sized electric type hadn't gotten a chance to hone it's true skills and it was looking forward to a good fight.
"I'll take the first move, then." The silence that had once overlapped this quiet town was now beginning to be broken by trainer and Pokemon in the face off, as Gold over-enthusiastically gave out the first commands to his leading Pokemon. "How about we start this off with a DISCHARGE, take down that overgrown lizard!" No sooner had the words escaped his throat, than the Jolteon leaped towards the scaley creature, it's body glowing as the small sparks increased in size, before it's body momentarily glowed white and a large outburst of electricity shot itself off of the spiky creature and towards the fire-breathing lizard.

So, he wanted to play like that, huh? Aeon? A strange name and he could only sit there and wait calmly for the ball to release his opponent. Already his brain began calculating a strategy for his Charizard as he had done many times before. The red light transformed into a tiny electric ball of spiky fur, staring across the field. Beside him, he could hear the wise chatter of his Pikachu, calling his opponent a complete asshole for copying Red's team-- specifically because he had a small electric type. He could see the disadvantage on the field, his Charizard could easily succumb to a simple electric move. Red didn't bother to call off his Pikachu's jeering, he was too busy trying to remember what Jolteon could handle. The only thing that really stood out to him was the Volt Absorb ability, meaning Pikachu was practically useless if they had to go head to head.
Discharge. The Jolteon rushed forward. Red opened his mouth to order the Charizard to dodge, but the dragon was already on it, charging up a Dragon Pulse. The teal ball flew through the air, growing larger like a ball of snow rolling down a hill in a blizzard. It had a hollow roar like a tornado, acting as a shield to absorb the flying bolts of electricity. Yes, it was perhaps the most idiotic of choice moves-- to waste a perfectly powerful attack was dreadful. But then again, the Kanto Champion hadn't gotten where he was today by simple orders, oh no. The dragon move took the incoming attack, exploding into clouds of smoke and dust."Work harder," He mumbled to the opposing challenger, reaching upward to scratch Pikachu's head, "Jolteon is a fast attacker, correct? Then you should utilize a move like Thunder Fang. More accurate than some flimsy Thunderbolts, huh?" He chuckled, only because Gold had no idea how helpful he was being.
The serious expression returned, the stirred air pulling at his red jacket. "Slash." The Charizard roared in reply, taking flight. He stayed low, near the ground, cutting through the smoke with only a few wingbeats. His target was sighted and honed in on, curved claws glowing with a white light. The Charizard threw his open palm at the Jolteon, hoping to feel flesh under his claws.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Gold stood with his hands clenched tightly, veins exposing themselves against his stressed skin as he watched the electricity filled attack make its way effortlessly through the air. His spiky-furred partner pounded against the soft vegetation as it put distance between itself and the Charizard as it charged up a Dragon Pulse to counteract the first attack. The attacked roared through the air, counteracting Gold's own attack as the dragon and electric attacks collided with each other and exploded, leaving no other traces except for a large collection of smokey matter. He hadn't even noticed his opponent utter the command to the Charizard, it just went to show how much higher in rankings Red was compared to him. He wasn't going to back down, now, though. He'd gone through so much training, he faced off against some of the best trainers in his own region, he'd gone through so many extensive training sessions with each one of his Pokemon. (well except for the newest addition, Phanpy) This battle was what he had been waiting for for so long. The person standing across the field was the very challenger that he needed to better hone his skills as an ace trainer. Sure, everyone considered him one of the best trainers in the Johto region, but over here barely anyone knew him; it was such a change of pace.
Gold barely heard the sound of Red's words over the crackling of the electrical sparks that coursed through the rising smoke as it faded slowly into the twilight air. Biting his lip at the comment, he should have known that, he had been depending too much on the max accuracy of Discharge, he didn't think that his opponent would use such a powerful move such as Dragon Pulse to completely dispel the electric attack. He rarely had his opponents do anything aside from dodge the attack or take it head-on. Just another example of the large gap between the two, but Gold was planning on completely closing that gap during this battle. If he won...WHICH HE WOULD!
"Aeon, go on and dodge it!" The black-haired boy called out to his Pokemon, but his command was several seconds late as the Jolteon made a speedy attempt to dodge the oncoming attack, but was hit by the ending effects of the attack as the sharp, glowing claw ignored the spiky coating of Jolteon and slashed straight through a slip of flesh on its shoulder. Blood seeped out of the thin wound and the thick crimson liquid flooded slowly down the creatures leg, it was barely enough to put any real source of hardcore pain through the electric Pokemon's body as it stumbled for it's footing and turned to face the Charizard again, waiting obediently for Gold's next command.
While the older teenager hated to admit it, the words that Red had mumbled were true about his Jolteon. He needed to take control of each of his Pokemon's full abilities and use it to his advantage, he depending much too often just on the brute strength of each of his Pokemon; no matter how pissed off it made him feel to listen to the advice of others, he may just have to take the advice the Champ was handing him. He'd just make it sound like he didn't need the advice in the first place, that he just used Discharge to flesh out the Charizards moveset; which, now that he thought about it, actually made for a decent idea, and fortunately enough, Thunder Fang just happened to be in his move roster.
"Thunder Fang!!" He called out the simple command for the lightning Pokemon to follow as the static-filled Pokemon began its second attack on the Charizard, lowering its jaw to expose glowing teeth as they began to let off an array of electricity, it's pink paw pads thundering across the battle field as it bunched up its muscles and pushed off the ground with lightning speed as it prepared it's jaws to latch down on the leathery flesh of the opposing Charizard.
By now Gold had become so engulfed in the ongoing battle that he failed to notice his little elephant begging for his attention. The blue Pokemon was quick to become jealous of it's trainers lack of attention to it, and right now it certainly wasn't getting all the attention it wanted. Snorting through it's long trunk the Phanpy lightly headbutted it's trainer lower calf, in hopes for a response, but the entranced trainer either didn't feel, or just choose to ignore it as he kept his attention focused on the battle.

It was hard to see much of anything and the dragon's wings created powerful updrafts that practically knocked the gangly boy backwards. His cap blew clean off his head, twisting and tumbling through the air current. Oh, the want to reclaim his selfless headgear was overpowered by that stupid thunder fox who put Charizard in a critical situation. He didn't have the time to chase after his fleeing hat, but his Pikachu did. Valiantly, the mouse left his partner's side, charging into the foliage. His eyes were trained on the cloud of smoke that Charizard had rumbled through without any rhyme or reason except to completely rip open his target. However, all he could hear was wing beats and the quick tongue of Gold urging his Jolteon to move.
He waved off the smoke that rolled by him with a displeased clearing of his throat. Arceus, had it been a hit or miss? He heard the quiet panting of Pikachu as he returned, bumping into Red's leg due to the fact the hat was sinking over his eyes. The Champion bent down, pale fingers pinching the top. Mumbling a quiet thanks, he put it back where it belonged; on his own head. He listened quietly as Gold's voice sprang into the twilight again, ordering a Thunder Fang. Good, so the boy had ears. He saw a flash of light behind the billowing clouds, almost like a camera flash had gone off. "Hold your ground, Charizard." The Pikachu blinked up at his partner in complete bewilderment. Was the nostalgia of Pallet Town going to the boy's head or was his cap too tight? Charizard was a flying type, he'd surely feel the pain! "Red! Yer mad!>
The electric type waved his yellow paws in an outrage, but the trainer simply shook his head and kept his eyes trained on the fight. He could hear the roar of pain emitted from the jowls of the dragon as static fangs locked over one of his frail arms. The Charizard was utterly confused, but he held firm, gritting his jagged fangs against the pain that pulsed through his leathery hide and straight to his core. "Bring 'im up, Charizard." The reptile glanced back for a second and saw his trainer thumbing the air with a smirk. A roar rolled off the reptilian's long tongue and he unfurled his wings, taking to the air faster than a bullet from a gun.
He surged upward, regardless of whether the Jolteon was hanging on (Arceus knows he could still feel the ache of the Thunder Fang through his bruised flesh) and let out another barbaric roar. He hung in the air where he was barely more than a dot, nevermind a dragon to the humans far below. The air was thin and he found himself having to pull in large gulps of air faster than usual, but he'd hang tight until his reptilian ears caught word of the next move. This was a game of chess and that Jolteon was a pawn for the taking. "It looks like you are in a mighty fine predicament, eh? But we must remember something," He scuffed at the ground with his sneaker and grinned wolfishly at Gold through the dying smoke. Beside him, his Pikachu began to chatter wickedly, electricity crackling from his cheeks "You're in my territory now-- TAKE HIM OUT, CHARIZARD!"
With a twist of his hefty body, the Charizard bellowed, <Get the fuck off.> A teal ball formed infront of the dragon's mouth, pulsating with malice among other properties of rage. He twisted his arm forward, the one who's talons held snug to make sure the poor Jolteon didn't fall and break its neck if it let go of him (Arceus knows he doesn't want to win by default). His neck twisted so there was a proximity of a few inches between the electric fox and the growing dragon pulse. "You now have less than a few seconds to prevent, er, Aeon from becoming a roast. Trust me, you have plenty of time." Chuckling, he leaned downward and stroked the top of Pikachu's head. Oh, this was amusing.

This Currents Only Pulling Me Down No thanks to a simple tip from his competitor, Gold finally got a successful hit onto the opposing Charizard, but he wasn't going to burst out in a cheer now, not until he had completely dominated Red's team. His spiky-haired battle partner continued to bite into the leathery hide of the Charizard as sparks flew from the wound like fireflies, fading into the falling darkness. The only thing that bothered Gold now was the opposing trainers command for the flying type to stand it ground. He wasn't the champion for nothing, he should obviously know that an electric type attack such as Thunder Fang would deal a good bit of damage into the lizard’s body, he should have at least made some kind of command to dodge it...but why.
Gold eyed the black-haired champ as Jolteon dug its fangs deeper and deeper into the fire lizards body, sending courses of lightning into its system, swinging its fur covered paws in the air as it tried to gain some kind of paw hold on the bulky fire-type, finally choosing to dig its claws into the thin flesh on both sides of its head. Its large purple and yellow ears flicking around as it listened for what its trainer wanted it to do next. It's spiky pelt sparking white when it recharged the electricity seeping out of its glowing fangs. Gold caught what Red was planning for a second too late as he caught sight of the smirk on gold's face, illuminated by the rising moon as he spoke a simple command to the Charizard and gave the creature a thumbs up; before Gold could yell for the fennec fox to lose its grip, it became a prisoner of flight, hanging on helplessly as it was taken from its earthly home into the Charizard's own territory.
"Aeon!!" Gold called out as the Jolteon was flown higher and higher, towards the heavens as its lower limbs scrambled for some kind of thing for support, its big, beady eyes wincing shut as all the wind rushed into them. Its lower limbs slowly went limp as it came to the realization that there was really nothing more than air to provide any sort of relief. It was the first time the poor Pokemon had been so high above the ground and without the comfort of its commander any where nearby the Jolteon was feeling the beginning senses of fear creeping up on her. If she fell from this height there was no way she'd be able to make it. Not to mention that at this altitude the air was thin, and Aeon had to force air through the gaps between her jaws and Charizards flesh.
The fox wasn't the only one feeling nervous about her current predicament; Gold was beating himself up inside over not having noticed the signs as he watched his Pokemon be taken captive into the sky. Fortunately enough that the sky was still light so he could ever so slightly make out his Jolteon struggling to keep her hold outside of her own comfort zone. A plan, a plan... He needed one, he needed one fast, some kind of strategy to keep his Jolteon breathing. As if a light bulb exploded in Gold's mind, he had a stream of strategy sweep through him; he just had to hope his Jolteon would trust him. They'd been together long enough, he was positive that she would be able to pull off the dangerous stunt.
He kept his eyes on the two sky high Pokemon, even when he heard Red speak several words to him, he didn't want to break his concentration as he studied the Pokemon as well as he could from the distance, raking his memory for several facts about its figure. There should be enough space, Aeon was smart, and she could do it. He was waiting, waiting for just the right moment. There. The Charizard had just begun to power up its attack when Gold yelled out to the heavens, hoping his thunder fox would hear his words. Perhaps it was a rather weak strategy, or at least sounded like one by the simple words he used, but he was never one to go into details.
"GET ON IT'S BACK, AEON!!" His voice drowned out the words Red spoke to him as Aeon's eyelids revealed beady eyes as it snapped back to attention at the screams of her trainer. How was she supposed to do that when she was stuck in front of a teal glow of pure power? No, Gold knew what he was doing; trust him, that's what she needed to do. She had less than a few seconds to move as she released her stone hard grip, licking the warm, crimson liquid from her fangs and jaws as she used the sheer power of her fore limbs to quickly pull herself up and over Charizard's shoulder and above the base of its flapping wings, scrambling to hook her claws into the rough skin of the lizard <I sure hope you know what you're doing, Gold> The Thunder Pokemon gasped as she managed to hook her claws in the base of its neck, puncturing even more of the fire-breathing hybrids skin as it held it's body close to the warmth of her opponent. Taking numerous inhales and exhales as she tried to fill her body with the oxygen she had lost, as she dug both fore and hind claws in as deep as she could, relieved to have some kind of support for the hind claws now.
As Jolteon moved quickly to execute Gold’s simple strategy, Rolan merely watched on in awe, once upset about being completely ignored by Gold, he was completely awestruck by the teamwork, sure it wasn’t completely astounding, but the blue elephant just wished he could be doing things like that. Lately Gold rarely ever used him in a battle; sure he got praised a lot for picking up rare items, but was that all he was really good for. Swinging around his long trunk, Rolan snapped himself back into the battle, gazing upwards as Aeon continually hung onto Charizard’s fleshy back.
There was a choice now, take Charizard out while it was in the air and risk a double knock-out when they both fell, or simply suspend its movements ever so slightly for a somewhat safe fall. Gold cared too much about this win to go for the latter. He had already made his decision; there was no way this would even miss at this range. "THUNDER WAVE!" Aeon heard it in the split second after it was spoken, so that's what his plan was, she could move with this. The Jolteon parted its jaws, taking in a gasp of air as it sent off an electric wave off energy at the Charizard, at such close range, he'd have to hack for this thing not to hit him.

This kid wasn't anything short of fucking stupid, he proved it when he had called his Jolteon's name pitifully. In the moonlight he could see the silhouettes of both Pokémon struggling. If Charizard was in pain from those repeated attacks, he was either too numb to feel it anymore or too pissed off to care anymore. The tail flame was a dull light switching around through the twilight as the Charizard moved and tried to give the Jolteon a clean gash with its teeth or claws or whatever it could get the electric-type with. This was a ridiculous predicament for Charizard, who couldn't reach the incredibly fast electric-type. This was truly silly but at least his opponent had a harder time commanding the stupid fox, right? Lucky for Gold, this was Red's only flying-type.
He commanded amazing composure as the younger boy ordered his Jolteon to release his steel grip and scramble onto the Charizard. The boy swallowed hard, hoping his dragon wouldn't go berserk and attack everything like last battle. Meanwhile, up in the clouds, said Charizard glanced backwards at the Jolteon who scraped his talons against his leathery hide and mumbled a prayer to Arceus that Gold wasn't drunk during the making of that post. <You better be sayin' more than askin' if your trainer is doin' the right thing. I'll tear you into so many little pieces, your momma won't be able to identify you.>
However, there was the undeniable fact that his earholes commanded hearing and Gold was yelling out a move that would critically turn this round for the worst. The jowls of the fox parted and blasts of electric waves pulsed from deep inside his throat. Fuck. "Simple. Flare Blitz." The dark-haired boy yawned, eying the opposing trainer with a smirk. <You're crazy, right? You must've lost it. You'll kill 'em both. Hell, ye might just kill us too!> The Charizard's wings folded inward and the dragon twisted, engulfed in flames. Like a falling star, the dragon rocketed fearlessly the the earth, the ground exploding on impact with the two hundred pound fireball. Rocks swimming in the inferno fired out of the crater and Red did as best as he could to dodge them, hardly aware as to whether Gold was alive (maybe the two pokemon landed on him?). Moonlight filled the hole as the lizard crawled out slowly, electricity crackling across his leathery hide. The boy's skin crawled when he saw such a grotesque version of his Charizard. With ball in hand, he lifted it up to eclipse the Charizard's defiant expression. A tail came in contact with his hand, pretty much shattering it with the force. The ball tumbled from his stinging fingertips. <Fuck you, this isn't over yet. I'm not calling it quits... yet.> The dragon winced and then turned towards the destruction, ready for round two, even if it meant a simple breeze could knock him out. ooc; hax charizard is hax. although in game, charizard would survive that /shot.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ------------------------------------ & I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE TO LOSE MY HEAD

Was it working? He could barely make out the dark silhouttes in the twilight sky aside from the constant flapping of Charizard's giant wings. There it was, though, he could see the sparkle of electricity being sent from point blank towards his back, she had successfully made it onto his back and set off the electrical paralysis without a...fuck. Gold watched as the sky suddenly lit up and both his fox and the lizard burst into flames, a blood curdling yowl escaped Jolteon as the flames engulfed her body, twisting and curling around it's stomach. She wanted to let go, rid herself of the strong, burning sensation, but by releasing her deathly grip on its back would surely be just a call for suicide. So the electric fox did the only thing she could do as she and the Charizard plummeted towards the ground, singed pieces of the thunder foxes parted from its pelt and were whisked away in the wind.
Shit. Gold began stepping backwards as the fat lizard dropped like a boulder straight into the ground, no sooner had he retreated several steps when the ground exploded and set an earthquake reaction under Gold's feet, forcing him to lose his balance and topple backwards, his black and white hat flying off into the air, but that was the least of his worries as flaming pieces of debree shot themselves from the giant creator, one such piece shot itself straight towards Gold, who made a frantic move to avoid it by scrambling to the side, but the rocks never even came close. His eyes swirled till they set upon his blue elephant, slapping away all the oncoming rocks. Gold laid dumbfounded for a mere couple of seconds before he scrambled back onto his feet. <I got it covered REAL good!> The tiny elephant boasted, hoping for a compliment which came in no other form than Gold muttering a great job. The teenager was too worried about his other Pokemon that was nowhere near as composed as Red was about the current situation as he saw the monstrous looking Charizard rise from the depths of the void, sparks flickering from his bruised hide. A chill creeped down his spine and created bumps across his bare skin, he'd seen many things in his life, but nothing more astrocious as this, this thing.
His dilated pupils processed in the scene as out of the corner of his eyes he noticed Red pulling out a small sphere-like object, ready to end this battle with his defeat, but Gold didn't even know if his own Pokemon was any better, she still hadn't risen from the crater, even after Charizard had made its decision to stay in the battle, Gold couldn't even imagine how the giant lizard was standing now, he looked about ready to collapse any minute now.
A sudden flash of yellow caught Gold's attention and he looked toward the crater just as his Jolteon crawled its way onto the singed grass around it. Aeon’s sides heaving as it tried to fill its lungs with lost air. Her yellow pelt no longer appeared the normal bright yellow, but instead was blackened smog. There was one thing for sure, though, despite her blackened stat it appeared the slightest bit better off than Charizard, and Aeon had reason enough to be. Despite her plummeting status moments earlier, she had positioned herself to use the Charizard as a cushion for her fall, the fire lizard took the full force of the ground while she herself took half of the damage from the ground impact as compared to both the full force of Flare Blitz AND the ground. He stared over at Gold with her big beady eyes, a signal to say I'm fine, keep going as she turned on her hind quarters to face the Charizard. Both were nowhere near good for wear. With the Charizards distorted form, and Jolteon's weakened form, the next move would decide this battle.
"Aeon." Gold stepped forward a single step, his voice low and his body tense, this was the final move for this battle, if he didn't pick the right move now it might as well just be over, Red would have the first win and he'd be at the first disadvantage. "TAKE THAT FLYING BASTARD DOWN! THUNDER!" There it was, the sudden spark in his voice indicated his plan of demise, the last move of Jolteon's move set and hopefully the end to this battle. Soiled pieces of fur fell from Aeon's scorched pelt as it lifted it's head up towards the heavens and let out a yowl, it's body glowing faintly as clouds moved over head directly above the Charizard. Sparks jumping from cloud to cloud as a sudden bright light erupted from them straight down towards Charizard. Tension filling the air around Gold as he prayed the attack would hit.

His muscles tensed, the heat lapping at his exposed flesh and caused beads of sweat to form on his forehead and on his upper lip. His hand stung horribly from where Charizard had struck him, but he swallowed the throbbing pain and ran his shattered fingers through his short, dark hair, hoping the agony would override his anxiety on the current predicament. Out of the smoke and dust came the electric-type, looking tired but not yet down for the count. His adam's apple quivered with each uneasy swallow, but he kept a composed look, or at least his emotions were so slight that it would be near impossible to catch several yards across the arena. The shuffling of feet on grass made him lift his crimson eyes and stare past the duo on the other side to see the exhausted and worried faces of townsfolk who had been woken up by the blast, their slippers crunching on the dead grass and on the loose stones.
This was their home, not their playground. Well, fuck. It was too late for that. Gold got off the ground and stepped forward, his voice low, so low Red couldn't understand. But then he screamed. Halfway through his command, Red called to his battered Charizard, "FINISH HIM."
The Charizard threw its head back, a teal orb forming in his mouth. Anger flooded his dark, navy hues, a snarl ripping from his jaws. He roared, throwing his head forward and releasing the Dragon Pulse, it tore through the earth, ignoring the gaping hole in the ground. It only had one target in mind, the Jolteon yowling. The Charizard's tail lashed to and fro, watching stormy thunderheads move and cover the moon. Alas, he was too tired to move from his impending doom. A bright light flashed in front of his eyes, beady orbs rolling back and saliva spilling from his gaping jaws as pain exploded in his cranium. His wings unfurled, muscles locking as the pain ceased and turned to darkness. "Alright. Return." He lifted his broken hand, the red light enveloping the dragon mid-fall. Replacing the ball with a new one, he eyed his opponent before tossing it. With a deafening crack, the red light poured from the pokeball into the distinct form of a round creature. Snorlax. The normal-type appeared asleep (but when didn't it?). Patiently, Red waited for some sort of outcome on the other side, or at least a move to start the second round.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] ------------------------------------ & I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE TO LOSE MY HEAD

The chattering of townfolks filled Gold's ears and he took his mind off the battle for a split second as he turned a step to follow Red's gaze, his eyes resting on the worried faces of women, men, and children of all ages trudging across the scorched ground, a tiny child was clutching tightly onto the hand of his mother, holding a tiny Growlithe doll in his other hand. Gold wasn't the kind to just leave them worrying about what in the world had just exploded in the midst of their late night, he parted his lips and spoke just loud enough for the towns folk to hear him, "Hey, don't worry about anything, just a battle. Sorry we woke you." He apologized, turning back towards the battle field just as the Charizard released the teal ball of energy across the broken field. Aeon was too exhausted to dodge the attack as her Thunder rained down from above, sending ripples of electricity through the Charizard when it hit its target. Jolteon shaking it's body as the access electricity skipped across her fur, but even the jolt of energy that ripped beneath her skin wasn't enough to get her dodging the Dragon Pulse in time. The teal-colored attack connecting with her weakened body as a loud shreek escaped from her jaws, gurgling out of her throat as she staggered weakly on the field, she wanted to get in just one more hit for the sake of Gold. The current opponent was like none that the duo had ever faced in their past, she just wanted one more attack. One. More...Aeon's leg joint muscles locked as her body began to feel the full effect of the Dragon Pulse and she crumbled to the ground. Her eyes rolling back into their sockets as the world around her went black.
"No way!" Gold cringed, already reaching for his Jolteon's pokeball. The first battle was a double knock-out, what a surprise, they were really that evenly matched? "You still did an excellent job." The boy stated as as the red light engulfed his wounded Pokemon and pulled it back inside of her Pokeball, by now Red had called out a giant tan and black Pokemon, it was a Snorlax, not a real common site around even the Kanto region. With his Jolteon now safely within its capsule, he tugged another Pokeball off his waist belt and tossed it up into the air, "Go, Solitude!" He called out, the sphere exploding in a collection of red lights as the blade Pokemon touched down lightly on the ground, shoving itself lightly away from the still scorching grass as it faced the giant normal type. It was Gallade, the psychic and fighting type.
A chilling wind brushed past Gold as he looked over his opponents Snorlax. The creature seemed to be sleeping now; he could probably get in a bit of stat-boosters now, to take it down even faster. The gapping crater still separating both sides of the playing field, Gold gave out the first command, "Sword Dance" He commanded, his Gallade slapping together it's tonfa-like arms before letting out a speedy call of its own name and putting up a defensive pose with his sword-like arms, now glowing neon purple as they coursed powerful energy through its body in preparation to make this battle short and snappy.

This battle would be a lot easier on his hometown than the previous. He stared out at the crater that still smoldered from impact. Hot smoke twisted from its depressed form. He was halfheartedly glad he wasn't exposed in the moonlight, but more like the twisting smoke clouds and shadows. He didn't want them to see... to see their hero was the one destroying their town. He didn't want his mother's heart to break when she saw her son bruised and broken and lighting buildings on fire with his Charizard. Her face would hurt him too much. That or Leaf with her happy glow coming out from her house to see all this destruction. Subject anyone from his childhood to seeing him causing such chaos? Too much to bear. He stepped backwards even further until the shadows cast by the burnt trees behind him allowed a chameleon-like effect. His fingers curled into his palm. He just wanted this to be over.
Gold's hand held the Jolteon's pokeball. The dog had crumpled to Charizard's last resort move. Red's eyes were fixed, although unfocused, on the yellow fox as red light illuminated and swallowed it's fallen form. Gold was recalling Aeon and moving for another Pokémon. Another ball twisted through the air, its red and white form catching the light of distant flames as it arched through the air and cracked open mid-throw. Red watched a rather peculiar form fall from the red light, landing gracefully on the charred ground. It whirled to face Snorlax without hesitation. Red lifted an eyebrow incredulously. What was that one again? He had seen it somewhere in Sinnoh... something with a psychic and fighting type. It cancelled out the fighting-type's weakness to psychic attacks. Dammit.
It killed him not to know his opponent's species.
Red watched as Gold commanded the first move and let them fall into the second round. His brow remained quirked as the boy went into defensive mode, using a passive move to boost attack power. Simple. "Snorlax!"
He called and the round titan rose to his feet silently, stumbling around the crater to stand in front of the Gallade as it finished it's Swords Dance. It stood there silently for several seconds, the only noise it made was the steady inhale and exhale from its mouth. Bending down, it sized up the foe before sticking his tongue out for a full body lick. It was for the hopes of paralyzing it-- Red wanted his opponent's speed down. "Now, use Defense Curl!" The Snorlax stepped away from the Gallade regardless of whether the move had hit his foe and bent downward, curling his large, navy form into a ball. The second round of their battle was starting off pretty slow, the Snorlax moved with slow precision just as the blade Pokemon finished its passive move as it sized up his own Gallade before unleashing a horrifying lick straight along it's chest, curving over its white waist and green and red bodice. An unnerving chill ran down his body as the psychic fighting type instinctively flipped backwards landing with master skill onto the ground, not for a second losing his balance. The ghost-type attack had tapped into the fighters ghost weakness, quivers of disgust jolting through his body, but he fortunately enough was able to evade the slight chance of paralyzation that came from the While the Snorlax took the momentary movement to curl itself into a tight ball of navy fat. Clutching its inner body tightly as it left no room to make a direct attack.
Gold's golden eyes flicked quickly over the body of the Snorlax, observing it carefully, trying to find a weak point. Maybe the head, but that piece of anatomy was being carefully shielded by the rest of its body. His best bet for now would be to go in from the sides, maybe try he could tap into a weak spot, not that it appeared this opposing creature currently had any. Snorlax's weren't at all common around the regions, so this was the first time he'd ever been pitted against the bulky fat Pokemon. It suddenly dawned on him the type of the opposing Pokemon, with all its fat and bulkiness; it was still a normal type, weak to any kind of fighting-type attack. Fortunately enough, Solitude has just the kind of attack, sure it was a pretty risky start to the fight, but he was sure that Solitude's speed, compared to the slow-moving Snorlax's, would be able to keep up with that.
Solitude set itself into attack position as it impatiently awaited the next command, if his trainer didn't give him a command right now he was going to head in for the kill all on hi-"Solitude, Close Combat from the side!!" Fortunately enough, Gold had made up his mind on the next attack before the slick, green Pokemon made up its own mind. The psychic fighter hit its tonfa-like hands against each other before it instantly picked up into a speedy run, expertly flipping to the right as it, aimed towards the side of the Snorlax's bulky, tan stomach. Sliding as it hit the ground before it used his own momentum to launch itself at the Snorlax, swinging its thin, but powerful, arms at the thousand pound monster, the quick motion making his attack seem only like a blur.
