The easiest place to find Pikachu is on Red's left shoulder, where he spends his days nipping at the Champion's hair and scheming new ways to obliterate foes. He enjoys style points over the boring straight-forward moves, so he's often calculating how to make his quick attack more efficient and spectacular. The Pikachu is easily the biggest flirt on the team, going after any female that crosses their path. That might explain why Red's team is all male.

Lapras is the child of the group, being the most inexperienced of the bunch. He's usually out and about serving as transport for Red when he travels over bodies of water or causing mischief by causing blizzards and avalanches. Despite his immaturity, he's also the most versatile Pokémon to use on Mt. Silver, where hail is rendered useless as it bounces off his shell. But as was said before, he enjoys causing avalanches, which explains why Red rarely gets opponents.

What is there to say about Snorlax? He fits his species perfectly, spending most of his time sleeping. His constant dreaming lulls the opponent into believing that he won't attack, but by Arceus he will if he wakes up. Pissed off, he'll stop at nothing to crush the foe who had roused him from his slumber, Pokémon or not.

Red's first official Pokémon, received as just a little Bulbasaur. Age has really affected the fellow and his lacking speed is made up by his ability to use an army of toxic powders on his foes. Add a few vines to strangle his enemies and then you have Red's Venusaur. The duel type is generally laid back about battling-- in fact, he'd rather stay out of the battle and lounge around.

Charizard is Charizard. He's proud and refuses to waste his energy on a weaker opponent. To him, winning is not an option, but rather a life or death choice. If he feels he has the disadvantage, he'll more than likely go berserk and ignore Red's commands. At that point, you better take cover, because Charizard will destroy everything in his path and then some. It takes a lot of screaming for Charizard to get under control. Generally, the dragon is very loyal to Red, not to mention a total hopeless romantic when he's around female dragons.

This Blastoise isn't the smartest of Pokémon, generally relying on Red's command to get the job done. He tends to rely more on long range 'i'm going to blast you to high heaven with the cannons on my back' strategy. Without his trainer backing him up and giving him an actual working strategy, he'd just be an overgrown turtle who couldn't battle well for his life..
